This 50% off HBO is one of the better deals at BB every year. I ordered the Sopranos Season 1 BR for $29.99 this morning for in-store pickup. Thinking about picking up Season 6 (both parts) while I'm in store later when it opens.

I've been waiting all year for this.

I'm going to get Generation Kill and Rome.

Ordered the complete series of The Wire, Deadwood, and Extras. With standard shipping it's still supposed to be delivered between the 22nd and the 24th. Not bad.

I just watched my copy of Rome I bought on Amazon a few weeks ago. The PQ is absolutley awesome and the extras are overflowing, a great buy at that price!

I just picked up Generation Kill and am debating on Rome now... $65 is still a bit pricey for me right now...

I was going to bite if it was $50, but $65 pushes it into "Ehhhhh, I really shouldn't spend that much money right now" territory. I talked my friend into it buying it though, so I may just borrow his.

Re: Best Buy Weekly Ad 12/20/09-12/26/09

Picked up the District 9 exclusive this morning. Good thing they opened at 8 AM before I had to leave for work. They had a District 9 display out with 5 exclusives on it. The tag for the exclusive was on the shelf but it was just filled in with regular Blu-Rays. At first I didn't see the shipper so I had the employee look up the inventory, and saw over the screen that only 5 of the exclusive were in-store. Then as soon as she walked towards the back and I turned around, I almost bumped into the shipper sitting right there. I had pre-ordered the Blu-Ray to get the dog tags, and the exclusive Blu-Ray seemed to ring up fine for the pre-order with no problems.

There were only 5 copies of the D9 exclusive at my BB too.

If this is the only stock they get, it could turn into quite a collector's item.

I really want that D9 exclusive. I would do an in-store pickup for it, but the chance of them pulling the right version are pretty slim. Hell, most of the time when I get there (many hours after I get an email saying my item is ready for pickup) it hasn't even been pulled at all.

I think I am 2 for 10 on picking up something that has been pulled even though I have been sent the email. They never seem to pull your items on time or at all when i go do the instore pick up. Pretty crappy service IMO.

It really is rediculous. I mean, how does the email get generated saying your item is ready to be picked up if no one has pulled it. BB should really work on their system. I miss when they would give you a $10 gift card when your shit wasn't ready, which was every time.

I've never had a problem with my items not being at Customer Service when I get to the store, and I use in-store pick up over half of the time I buy items at Best Buy. I was always bummed that it would be there, because I never could take advantage of the gift card deal.

Exactly! Almost every time I did in-store pickup, they NEVER had the item at the Customer Service desk, and I ended up getting a $10.00 gift card. I believe I ended up getting 6 or 7 of these $10.00 gift cards because of that policy. I was VERY sad when I found out they ended it!

Don't you just love it when a company decides it is more efficient to eliminate a customer friendly policy rather than train employees or fix system problems?

Re: Best Buy Weekly Ad 12/20/09-12/26/09

had another bad experience also this week with an in-store pickup -- the second one in a month. my .com orders are "missing" when i go pick them up. the manager who happened to be manning the pick-up section said sometimes employees "steal them"...WTF does that attitude/excuse mean, and what does that say about their useless in-store pickup service? i had enough, told her off, then went home and phoned in my experience to Corporate CS. if anything, this will get reported to the regional manager for further action. these idiots working the stores are stealing our deals from right under us.
