Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

For those of you who used DISNEYBD and got Pinocchio, the latter dropped $1. Since it's not a preorder item, does this change automatically or do we have to get this manually updated too?

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

The Best Buy website price for Up has dropped to $19.99, or $4 lower than the price in the Best Buy weekly ad. I have edited my post accordingly, but all this really did was raise the price of deal #3 by 3 cents (since you could already PM Wal-Mart's price of $19.96). However, this might make it easier for some people to get the deal now, as you'd be pricematching Best Buy itself, not a separate company.

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

Ya know, it's about time the B&M retailers started to compete more with online shops, in particular, Amazon.

I think they finally realize after all these years that Amazon is taking a lot of money from them. It's a shame it took them so long...

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

I like the Bestbuy deal the most... you can get UP + Steelbook for $19.99 now. If you can do in-store pickup, you could probably add Monsters Inc @ $18.99 to the deal minus the $8 MFG coupon.

so........

UP Blu
Steelbook case
Monster's Inc

for $30.98.

Not bad.

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

I guess with the #1 Target deal, you are taking a chance that they won't honor the price match with Best Buy and their $10 off coupon. You won't know if they will until Amazon would have already shipped your order, if you went that route. I'm not sure which way to go.

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

I finally got amazon to bring my price back to $22.98 after they erased my discounts yesterday. People on slick are reporting that they wrote in about the $8 disney coupon for monsters and getting that applied, but I don't think I'm going to take the chance that they take away my discounts again... $22.98 is a great price for both.

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

Did you have the snowhitethanks code on your order?

I'm wondering how Amazon is handling the latest price drops after they have discounted the price of "Up" to adjust for the SWT. Any troubles with this?

"Up" was in my Gold Box today but it didn't get applied when I placed an order, so I just emailed them. We'll see what happens.

Updated to reflect that Up is not, in fact, advertised in this coming week's Wal-Mart ad.

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

Got back two responses. Amazon applied the Gold Box deal for me ($18.99) and the DISNEYBD deal for me (- $10.00), as well as matching the Disney Movie Rewards coupon (- $8.00) bringing my "Up" total to $8.99 and "Monsters, Inc." to $14.99. Also, there's some -$8.99 Best Value Savings thing on my order total, bringing the total to $18.96, which is incredible. I love Amazon.com. They definitely have the best customer service I've ever dealt with. Thanks guys.

When the total price was $37.98, I had been trying to get snowhite thanks applied and got denied once, so I then tried DISNEYBD and snowhitethanks again through different requests, and they applied both. My total was $17.98.

Then with the price drops, which I didn't request, my total got switched to $32.98. I sent another request asking why the discounts disappeared and my total is now at $22.98.

Which department did you select to send your e-mail to? Thanks.

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

Sent two copies of each request. One to the Returns & Refunds department, and one to Gift Cards and Promotional Codes department. I don't know which one responded.

I just realized though that given the discounts they gave me, my total should actually be $14.xx, not $18.xx. Might try my luck and follow up on that.

The best value savings is from the $10 for buying both Up and Monsters Inc
I just emailed to try to get the $8 coupon off--I chose the refunds section when I e-mailed. What wording did you use for the coupon?

Amazon also sending out emails for those who pre-ordered Up! another 10$ coupon. This is not DISNEYBD, this is different. You can use that to purchase selected Disney blu-rays.

The other $4 may have been applied to the other movie you needed to order in order to use the $10 DISNEYBD coupon. They split my order in two--I saw that half that coupon was applied to a separate Snow White order and half to the Up/Monsters order.

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

OK--the response I got for the $8 coupon request was that they made an exception, etc.
Looks like they changed Up to 11.99 instead--so this means I only really got 7.60 off since it reduced my gold box by $.40. But that's $7.60 less than I thought I was going to pay, so I'll stick with it. At least them not changing Monsters Inc leaves the possibility for me to get a price drop on that if they reduce it below 22.99

Could you elaborate? If true, I'd go with Amazon over Target I could get a total of four blu's if that came in, but I haven't gotten any emails on it yet (then again, nothing from customer service about my promo either)

I was thinking the same way. I canceled my Amazon order sincde they shut me down on any kind of further discount. Why would I pay $32.xx when i can get the same 2 movies and a Steelbook for $30.98 + tax.

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

This deal is regional only but Fry's will have Up for $19.95 and Monsters Inc for $23.77, then give you $10 off if you buy both.

$19.95 + $23.77 = $43.72 - $10 = $33.72

Most people report that Fry's does not accept coupons, however. But if you somehow get them to accept the Monsters Inc coupon, your total will be $25.72

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

Amazon is playing hardball with me. In the last 24 hours, I got denied on the DISNEYBD and the $8 Monsters, Inc. upgrade coupons. They haven't heard the last from me. They'll cave just to stop being pestered.
