Lionsgate Blu Rays for $8 at Wal-Mart: Kickboxer, Replicant, Monster Squad, Cujo, The Arrival, Red Heat, Way of the Gun, Near Dark, Rambo: First Blood, Crank, and Tom Jane's Punisher. I picked up The Arrival, Monster Squad, and Cujo. Debating on whether I should keep Cujo or return it.

I saw all of those, either the Blu-ray itself or the shelf spot for it. The only one I was interested in was Near Dark and I grabbed the only copy on the shelf. Woohoo!

Now if only my nearest Walmart had that set up. Maybe there just behind with everything because las weekend thy did have more of the $10 ones out.

From the $8 list I might pick up 'Near Dark', 'Punisher', 'Cank' and 'Monster Squad'

Bellingham WalMart didn't have CE3K either.

Part of me KNOWS that I should just order from Amazon for $17.99 w/ free shipping + no tax rather than drive around creation to get it for $14.99 + sales tax + whatever the gas to get there cost me....... but the sick deal hunter in me can't pull the trigger :P

Ask and you shall receive... I went in today and found a few of the $8 titles and picked up Monster Squad. The Cujo space was empty, hopefully they fill it.

If the $8 DVDs aren't out and your store is a Supercenter, they are most likely sitting in the back room. If it's not a Supercenter, your store may never have them.

I've been to a few Walmarts around town, and I find it odd that if the store has the cheap Blus, they tend to have a single copy of each. It's just wierd.

I found CE3K tonight and picked it up as a blind buy.

I did the same thing. I used the excuse "who knows what else they may have".

My WM doesn't even have the DVD display anymore. All they have is one aisle with the endcap divided between DVD and BD new releases and the side has some BDs including Cabin Fever, Phamtom, Running Man etc for $10, but that's it!

Success! I hit up the Walpole (or is it Norwood?) WalMart and they had two copies of CE3K for $15.00. I got one and left the other! Neither was the WalMart exclusive version with the soundtrack, but I already own the soundtrack anyway.

Stopped by the nearest one to me and they finaly have the $8 blu's under lock and key. All the usual titles that have been mentioned, but I did also see 'Lord of War' in there too.

Didn't pick anything up, but may do next time I go in.

I picked up First Blood, Monster Squad, and The Arrival. At $8 each how could I say no?

(I also picked up the original Taking of Pelham One Two Three and The Cotton Club on DVD for $5 each. At that price, why not?)

re: Walmart / walmart.com discounts and deals on Blu-ray

After much debate, I went back for Cujo and Red Heat for 8 bucks each. I had a GC to use, so realized I had nothing to lose by buying these, even if I only watch em once... BTW, this store was NOT a Supercenter... My nearest Supercenter didn't have em, but they are still remodeling (they weren't a SC before, but just converted)

because taking of pelham 123 is non-anamorphic.

Major studios are still releasing non-anamorphic DVD's?!?!?! Incredible... Another reason why I only buy BD's for movies these days.

He's talking about the original movie, not the remake.

Picked up Cujo. It was the only title I didn't already have on SD that I wanted. I thought about upgrading my monster squad because it is one of my favorite childhood movies but I'm not sure its worth the upgrade.

I upgraded my dvd, at the price and the couple dollars I got for the dvd to knock the cost of the blu down a little more I'd say it was worth the upgrade.

re: Walmart / walmart.com discounts and deals on Blu-ray

Just stopped by my local Wal Mart. It is a Supercenter but an older one so it's small by the standards of the monsters they are building today. They had the $8 titles, a few new releases and that was it. No catalog or older titles at all. I was going to pick up a couple of the double feature releases; Miss Congeniality (2) and Presumed Innocent (Frantic) but they wouldn't price match Best Buy without an ad so I walked out without getting anything.
