Nope, for some reason that is lost on me, Costco pulls stuff like that, that doesn't sell, right off the shelves.

They must have some supplier deal that they can return any copy that doesn't sell for full value.

Or anywhere in Houston. I've been tempted by this film time and time again. At $19.99, that would probably be enough of a push.

My answer would greatly depend if you are buying them for yourself or your children. Movies like Ponyo and My Neighbor Totoro are more suited for children. Howl's Moving Castle and The Secret World of Arrietty are better suited for all ages, including adults.

Re: Costco discounts and deals on Blu-ray

I wouldn't say any of the Ghibli movies are more suited for children, more that a couple of them (Mononoke, possibly Spirited Away) are not appropriate for young children.

Personally if I had to go with only three I would recommend Mononoke, Totoro, and Spirited Away. Most of the others are great. Only a couple of the Ghibli movies are something I wouldn't recommend in general. Personally I don't think Whisper of the Heart, or the The Cat Returns, are must see movies like the others.

Whisper of the Heart was a disappointment, unless you are a big John Denver fan.

*raises hand*

I grew up spending summers in West Virginia with family and loving his music. This film was literally a joyous experience.

Guess it depends on what you are in to. I happen to like it and so do my kids.

Maybe they were sold out, or my location doesn't carry it, but I saw the 2D only this past weekend. Same for the other two Theatrical releases they carry. Same goes for the new Exodus release. Costco seems to have totally abandoned support of 3D.
