A couple of more instant off coupons

Sound of Music Gift Box $20 off about $40 after coupon

The Pacific $10 off about $50 after coupon
also $10 off SD of The Pacific about $35 after coupon.

Good until 12/19 per sign.

I assume the "about" part is because you pay tax at Costco before the discounts are applied, so it's a few dollars more. I know manufacturer's coupons usually are applied after sales tax, but aren't these Costco's own coupons so it would seem Costco could do it like Target (apply their own coupons before tax) if they wanted to. I'd say it was because they wanted to squeeze a few dollars more out of people, but since it's listed under sales tax I'm pretty sure they have to send it all into each state (states must especially like Costco for doing their own coupons this way while disliking Target for not).

well, it depends on the coupon. But usually even those "Costco's own coupons" are actually manufacturers' coupons. These are only "Costco's own coupons" in the sense that they are only valid at Costco.

Any new Blu finds to report at Costco?

In particular, I'm wondering if I should have jumped on deals on some Warner Bros. classics--MALTESE FALCON, TREASURE OF THE SIERRA MADRE, etc.--at Amazon, OR was right to hold out for a better price at Costco?

I was there last week and surprised to see each season of The Universe series (five total seasons) for $16.99 each. Picked up each season as they're normally $35 and up everywhere else. Seasons one through four vary with three to four Blurays and season five is two Bluray discs.

Casablanca is still $12.99. It goes OP at the end of March. It will be released again next year in a 70th Anniversary set. Probably a gift set at a high price.

They've already tried a high priced gift set so it'll be interesting to see what they come up with.

As I joked on the SD bargain board probably the previously unknown third letter of transit.

Anyone know if Costco is carrying The Cable Guy BD? They're always hit and miss with catalogue titles.

Was there yesterday and didn't see it. Most of the catalog titles I can recall seeing were WHV ones.

Sorry. Haven't been keeping track of the release schedule for THE CABLE GUY. Is this a "new" catalog title that one can safely assume Costco will carry (because of the presence of Carrey, I assume)?

That's an awesome price for an awesome movie. Hopefully mine has it this week (the selection at mine has gone down the drain in recent weeks).

Costco at Austin had several copies of Memento and Requiem For A Dream at $7.99 - also 3:10 To Yuma and American Psycho.
