This German horror flick was a blockbuster in its homeland. I caught it at a film festival last month and saw that it was being released on dvd on 4/3 with director commentary. WARNING: the commentary is in german! Couple of short featurettes,2 deleted scenes(with german commentary!), trailers, a music video, a storyboard to scene comparison. There's an english language track with fair dubbing. The picture is crystal clear and the sound, 5.l is excellent. Franka Potente, the star of Run Lola Run, has the lead. A lot of pretty amazing gore effects in a sometime over-the-top slasher story. Definitely worth a look for horror fans.

...and if Franka Potente 'acts' in just one more film like Anatomie her movie career will soon be over... this is one high-gloss(*), but awfully bad(**) 'horror' flick --- which proves -if ever there was any doubt- that making terrible, leave-your-brain-at-the-cinema's-entrance movies is not just an American art...

* handsomely photographed, sweeping music, some fairly well-done FX - the DVD is excellent

** storyline with credibility factor zero, main character who is so dumb and acts so dumb that at least this viewer soon began rooting for the villain

...all opinions, as always, strictly my own...

ADVISORY: rent before buying (if at all)...

I want to thank peep who,on another forum area, pointed out that you can get the subtitles to the director's commentary by playing the commentary audio track and putting on the subtitle function. I haven't seen this before - who would have thunk it?
