NASCAR Racing 4 advice?

I recently got NASCAR for for the PC and am having a really difficult time controlling the car. Somebody told me to give it more wedge, but that doesn't help me too much. I've also been adjusting the linearity of my steering control in the settings.

If anybody has this game, can you tell me what some good settings are for weight ratios, wedge, etc. I'm not much of a gamer and I don't know a whole lot about cars, so it makes it even more difficult for me to setup the game for decent playabillity.
