I would like to sift thru all the search results of "region free" but i'm too lazy. Can someone please recommend a good reasonably priced region free player that has very few problems playing all R1 discs.

I got the Apex 703 and it works great. But this particular model requires a modification that you can do yourself at home. All you need is the file and a CD burner. Here's a link to an Apex forum and it will answer all your questions. Sorry but I don't know of any other region free DVD players and you can't beat the price of the Apex.
