I have 2 Toshiba SD-1200s and one of them just died.(only 5 months old). I didn't want another Toshiba so I replaced it with a Sony 360 yesterday. Got it home and it seemed like an ok player at first. Until I tried playing Galaxy Quest(DTS) and the player kept skipping, dropping the audio and video, and would randomly skip back to previous chapters when it started having problems. I tried several other discs and all of them worked fine.
The Galaxy Quest disc is brand new without a scratch on it and it played just fine in 2 Toshiba SD-1200s and also in a cheap RCA player.
Just wondering if anyone else has had problems reading any discs with this player. Even though it has only messed up on 1 disc so far, this one's going back the the store tomorrow.
I think I'm gonna go with the new Panasonic DVD-RV31K (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00005AR4L/qid=985765943/sr=1-4/ref=sc_e_5/104-8246023-3160743) which added support for CDR, CDRW, and MP3-CDs. All for $199 or under. Almost sounds too good to be true.
Anyone else have this Panasonic yet?
