I have never seen this film so was curious if anyone could comment on it and possibly compare it to other films. Also if anyone wants to comment on the Anchor Bay dvd, please feel free. I really like the Anchor Bay tins and was looking for some others I might like (I have Evil Dead 2, The Beyond, Repo Man, Hellraiser, and Halloween 5)
Thanks for any and all input.

Yeah I've seen it. Sam's Club had The Car and Two Lane Blacktop in a shrinkwrapped 2-pack for $15.

I hadn't seen either film before, but at that price I was willing to take a chance.

The Car is surprisingly good...in some respects better than Christine.

Two-Lane Blacktop is an interesting film...slow and low-key, don't expect anything like Gone in 60 seconds type of action. If you're in the mood to just kick back and soak in some nostalgia (or you're a motorhead) you'll enjoy it. The Anchor Bay disc is surprisingly good. For the $8 I paid for it, it was certainly worth it.... at $28 in B&Ms... uh, I'd give it a miss.

glad to help out...

As for comparison to Repo Man...there is none. Repo Man is awesome! But it really is a matter of personal preference...after all they really are quite different films. Two Lane Blacktop is more similar to Easy Rider if anything.

I have the L. Tin! If you are a diehard car fan you should buy the film. If you are not I would suggest renting first. It has very little dialogue. I believe TLB was never available on VHS so I picked it up when AB first released it.
