The most important thing you need to know is that it is a NEW ANAMORPHIC TRANSFER and looks a heck of a lot better than the old Image DVD. Now, it still doesn't have that pristine sparkling image the best DVDs have, but it is smooth and solid unlike the digital-artifact-ridden crap on the Image disc. The best part to compare is during the final mission when they shoot it out in that gigantic outdoor set with all the destroyed buildings. It was distractingly blurry and crawling with artifacts in the original. In the new transfer, you can actually appreciate the intricacy and scope of the set as well as the action. The only complaint I have is that the colours could be more vivid. The sound is stereo and fine. No great extras to speak of but this isn't a movie that needs them. For me, the picture quality is key for an action picture and this disc delivers.
Best of all, I picked it up for the equivalent of $10 US locally (I'm in Canada).
And to pre-empt the inevitable witless DVDtalk inside joke: "Ooooh, Navy Seals!"

Oooohhh.. Navy Seals
Randal Graves: They never rent anything good either. They always choose the most intellectually devoid stuff on the rack.
