I have owned a Sony DVP-S560D for about six months. Over the past month or two, I have had nothing but problems with it. First, nearly every DVD that I rent or buy skips or freezes at some point during the movie (and I mean EVERY time, especially rentals.) Now, just today, it didn't even play at all. I tried putting about 10 different discs, but all I would get was this whirring sound for about 10-15 seconds, then it would read "NO DISC." Has anyone else had this problem? I will probably send it in to have it fixed since I still have a warranty on it, but I have no idea how long it will take. Please, any information at all would be very helpful. :)

I know the first and second generation players allowed you to do a servo readjustment or something similar after accessing the service menu. That cleared up similar problems. Anyone know if this is a still a "feature" and how to access the service menu?
EDIT
It's called a drive realignment. Found this info at DVDFile:
Hardware: Sony DVP-S7000 and DVP-S3000
Title(s): Many dual-layer discs
Glitch Description: Player will intermittently refuse to spin up an RSDL disc, instead displaying the message "Insert Disc"
Solution: Two, apparently. Some have had success with reopening and closing the tray. However, utilizing a Sony Authorized Service Technician who can access the "service mode" on Sony players and perform a drive realignment.
