I definetly prefer the DTS versions of DVD's. I noticed the that the sound from all (5) channels is so much clearer and the sound is simply so much better than I ever experienced in any theatre to date! I happened to hear the audio of "Days of Thunder" twice in to different stores and the audio was amazing and it wasn't DTS! I hope that film comes out in the DTS version! If anyone happens to find out if it ever does, please let me know, I would appreciate it very much. In the meantime I will be searching myself, but I have not found it yet in the DTS version. I did however find "Twister" in the DTS version and it's on the way. DTS DTS DTS DTS DTS

Is the 'Days of Thunder' included in the Tom Cruise boxset DTS?

Uhm... Days of Thuder was originally mixed in Dolby Stereo... Dolby Stereo (aka Pro Logic in home setups) has the same dynamic range as Dolby Digital AFAIK, so going to DTS wouldn't help, any.

glad_i_ate_her???

You say you experience sound far better and clearer than in any movie theatre?

What theatres do you go to? Glad I don't pay to go to crappy theatres.

Most theaters I have visited have crappy sound.....Showcase Cinemas here in Cincinnati!!!

The only movie I can remember which had fairly decent sound at Showcase Eastgate was Jurassic Park and I do not see how you could go wrong with this movie no matter where you went to see it!!! I would agree with the original poster....sound and picture are better at home with dvd!!!

One of the biggest dissapointments I had in a theater was when the original star wars trilogy was re-released and the claim of "digital surround sound" audio. This audio experience came and went in two seperate scenes that lasted less than 5 seconds! What a ripoff!! There was definetly false advertising there!! Either that or the cinema complex I saw the movie in did not have the "equipment" to play the movie and get that "DTS" audio. There is one complex in my area, it's CineMark, newly built that sounds pretty good but still not as good as what I get at home with DTS DVD. I'll be watching at home now exclusively!!!!
