I picked up Gunmen in the $6.94 section at 800.com, figuring it would be worth the price.
WRONG.
I'd seen the movie before and thought it was an ok generic action flick. For those unfamiliar with it, it stars Christopher Lambert and Mario Van Peebles as two men at odds with each other who are forced to work together to find $400 million dollars. It also stars Patrick Stewart, Denis Leary and Brenda Bakke as the bad guys.
The problem with the disc is it's a horribly cropped pan and scan transfer with more grain and artifacts than I've seen on a DVD in a long time. The video is terrible and almost looks stretched or something.
The audio is decent I guess, but nothing great. It's stereo only.
No extras, other than bios for Lambert and Van Peebles, and a summary of the film.
The odd thing is, it's a Canadian import, which I didn't think 800 carried.

Yeah, this disc has been in Canada for over a year now. That $6.94US is actually a mark-up over the Canadian _retail_ price. These are really cheap discs. The worst part is the low-resolution look. It looks like it came from a VHS tape.
