Is this movie worth getting? The upcoming DVD is pretty cheap and looks pretty good.

One word: Rental.

I saw it in the theatres and while its not worthy of the drubbing it got, I doubt that you'd watch it more than once.

Essentially, it's neither a horror flick nor a thriller--as it has no scares and no thrills (intentionally, mind you). Instead, the entire movie is a little puzzle, but of course you don't figure that out until the very end. Unlike the Sixth Sense, which warrants repeat viewings to pick up on the rules and clues, I walked out thinking, "well, I could watch the movie again to see how all of the pieces fit together...but, nah!"

Of course, now someone else will explain to you why the movie is brilliant.

But the DVD is gonna have running commentary with Mr. Roman Polanski. Certainly, that's something special!

If you enjoy slow, dark, and moody films then you may like it. I really love Polanski movies because of the mood he injects and the brainier than average storylines. I don't know what kind of extras will be on it but a director's commentary would definitely be cool.

I am definitly going to pick this DVD up. I like this movie and I think that it is worthy of buying. Of course, I go for these dark type of movies but hey, thats just me.

IT LOOKS PRETTY PACKED WITH EXTRAS AND IF THE MENUS ARE LIKE 'STIR OF ECHOES' (ALSO ARTISAN ENTERTAINMENT) IT SHOULD BE PRETTY COOL. ALTHOUGH I HAVE NOT SEEN THE MOVIE ITSELF YET.

I got a kick out of it, but I don't know how soon I'll watch it again. I think you have to appreciate that even though there's "dark, scary" elements, I think Polanski considers this to be partly comedy. The commentary may push this one into "buy" territory for me.

Mine is ont is way (the DVD). I watched this movie, and I really liked it. Most people were expecting something different than the film really was about. But I loved it

It's in today's Target and Circuit City ad for $14.99. It may be worth a shot....
