Worse, poorer dialogue, but still worth a look if you were really into Wall Street.

No competition. Boiler Room was mediocre at best (I was very disappointed). Wall Street was a terrific film.

Are you guys serious? After "Gladiator" and "The Patriot" there is not another film this year that could even come close to "Boiler Room". Also, I see this having more in common with "Glengarry Glen Ross" than "Wall Street", which it is often compared to. Anyway, I think the dialogue was done brilliantly, and that scene where Seth (Ribisi) reverses the role on the guy trying to sell the newspaper over the phone was born classic. Also Giovanni Ribisi, Vin Diesel, Scott Caan and the others showed tremendous A-list ability, and of course Ben Affleck was wonderful. The hip hop soundtrack and quotes served as a sort of contrast between the lifestyle these kids were living, as compared to the big firms. Anyone who hasn't seen this, give it a try on DVD, I think you may be surprised.
