I would have to say this is one of the best Delta/Laserlight titles I have seen. I thought at first it was a little blurry but after watching the whole movie I think a soft focus lens was used through most of the film. If you are a Orson Wells fan, this is for you. Also you get an okay 30 minute documentary on his life. Last I looked, it was still 4.49 at Buy.com and free shipping until 7/4/2000, I think. It does have the Delta Logo come up every 11 minutes in the lower right corner of the screen.

okay, still a cool flick. It was alot better than the Strange Love of Martha Ivers, another cool Flick for 4.49 but there is like a red/pinkish stripe on the top of the screen and in chapter 10 the color kind of blends into the B&W picture, then in chapter 11 it looks like some of the film was missing, not much but very noticeable. But then again Kirk Douglas in his first feature role and a pretty good 30 minute biography on his life with alot of film clips from his film were good. No Delta logo every 11 minutes on this one. DELTA LOGO FREE!!!
I still think the Stranger was excellant!!! Well, for 4.49.

Sorry, I wouldnt buy a damn thing from Buy.com free shipping or not. This has nothing to do with the 50 off 50 thing but from an order made on 4/30. I think we are seeing the Buy.com of old, real crappy, like they used to be...

Just thought I'd point out that this film is also available on DVD from other companies. You'll pay more than you would for this Laserlight version, but the quality is probably better. I have the version put out by Roan, a double feature that also contains "Cause For Alarm" (a pretty mediocre noir). The quality of the transfer, though not great, is acceptable. It doesn't have the blurriness that the Laserlight version seems to have. Although it's far from Welles' best, it's a good film and a solid, entertaining noir.
