I'm looking for a review of the transfer of "Farewell, My Lovely"...the 1975 version starring Robert Mitchum. Anyone seen it?

Gamblor187,

It is a color 1:33, DD mono transfer. Overall about average. You won't buy the DVD for demo puposes but Mitchum is a great Marlowe. Get it.

Thanks brez. I just saw this movie for the first time the other day (on VHS). Although the film is a bit flawed and the acting is somewhat inconsistent, I agree with you that Robert Mitchum makes a great Marlowe. I was also pleased that the movie was pretty faithful to the book. Not a great noir, but still one worth getting.
