Thanks, but I can pretty much figure out the specs. What's the quality level of the A/V? How is it compared to something mediocre like "The Jungle Book" or something excellent like "Tarzan"? I haven't found an online DVD review of it yet. Of course I haven't been as in touch as I was a few months back.

DVD Talk Legend
Don't expect Tarzan, that's for sure.
This is a very good release from Disney, but it is definitely limited by the source material, which was one of the studio's lesser efforts from the 1970s.
Picture is bright and colorful without any artifacts or dirt/scratches. It looks identical to my laserdisc from a few years ago and is probably taken from the same master.
Sound is 2.0 surround although just about everything comes from the front. Sound is adequate (you won't have to strain to hear anything), but it is rather thin and shallow. Certainly not an enveloping sonic experience, but I'm sure that this is true to the original source materials.
I can definitely recommend this DVD if you like the film. Disney did a fine job with it. Just don't bother if you are only picking this up as some sort of reference disc.
Hope this helps...
