I got Deep blue sea this week and I have to say it blows Jaws off in the weeds. It had a good blend of real, CG, and mechanical shark footage. It kept you on the edge of your seat throughout the whole movie because you never knew what was coming next. The story was basic, man (or woman in this case) fools around with nature and nature come back to teach them a lesson. Sound effects are on par with other underwater films and the transfer to DVD is quite good. So all and all I liked it.

now i wouldn't say it was better than jaws...that film remains in a category of its own. But...I really did enjoy deep blue sea as well. I had no interest seeing it in the theaters, so i rented it when it came out and i was surprised how entertained i was and the dvd sounded exceptionally good.
