This has to be one of the most underrated DVD's released in a while. Mrs Doubtfire is packed with extras (cast interviews, Chuck Jones interview, animation pencil tests, Chris Columbus commentary, several trailers, behind the scenes make-up, and deleted scenes). We enjoyed all of the extras, but especially the deleted scenes. It's a shame some of them had to be cut (ex. cajun Mrs. Doubtfire). So funny.

The Chris Columbus commentary was very insightful. Especially if you enjoy learning how to set up a shot. Neat stuff if you're not familiar with it. And, it's no surprise, we learn that Robin Williams improvised some of the most hilarious lines in the movie. Good stuff.

The Chuck Jones interview was a little bland. It's interesting, but like pulling teeth. The rest of the extras were delightful. Even if you thought Mrs Doubtfire was an average movie, this is a disc worth picking up.

Watching this movie again after several years was a great time. Robin was really excellent. Using Aerosmith's "Dude looks like a lady" over the comedy was the best. My 2 favorite scenes were where Robin flips the bird to and pegs Pierce Brosnan in the back of the head with the orange.

Chris Columbus's commentary (while apparently scripted) was very well prepared and informative.

Darth O,

Welcome to the forum. I haven't watched the DVD yet but this would have been a must DVD for me even if it didn't have any extras.

Any comments on the quality of the tranfer?

Mike

Mike-

The transfer is very sharp, especially during outdoor scenes. The colors & clarity of San Francisco look beautiful.

Thanks for welcoming us to the forum!

I loved the deleted scenes.

I noticed some shimmering from time to time. This movie is also non-anamorphic.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong but, how do you access the Deleted Scenes???

Thanks.
