The speakers I bought for my receiver say to set the LFE Mix to -10db for Dobly Digital. Ok, no big deal. However, the receiver has options for setting LFE Mix and dts LFE Mix. To make matters more confusing, the manual says the dts LFE Mix is set to +10dB and the LFE Mix(dolby digital) is set to 0dB because of a 10dB difference in the two. But, the intial settings for both is actually 0dB(it even says so two paragraphs above the note on the differences). Is this some kind of misprint, or is there some internal modification that sets the dts LFE mix +10dB higher than the LFE Mix?
thanks to anyone who can shed some light on this matter.

I'm glad that someone finally asked that question because I had the same problem and found a thread that explained it all. The Life mix for your DTS goes in multiples of 0,+1, +2, +3 all the way up to +10 right? You must have the Sony reciever. Anyways, the higher you put the Life Mix in the + range the deeper and more powerful the bass will be when your watching the movie in DTS and when your listening to 5.1 Dolby Ditigal, it starts off 0, -1, -2, -3 and so forth. The same applies here as well, the lower you go in the negative, the louder the bass will be. You don't want to set it all the way positive
(+) in DTS or there will be some distortion and the same goes for the Dolby Ditigal going in the negative (-).
hope that helped you out!
