This is a VERY good deal for $179. I paid $283 for mine and am still pleased at the deal. The 509 has everything you'll need at this point and probably for the future.

Please do tell where you can get it so cheaply.
That is a great price. I just ordered mine for $239 and thought that was a killer price. And it does have everything for a lower-end receiver.

I got mine from Fry's Electronics, the day after Thanksgiving sale. Check www.frysad.com, they have it on sale once in a while. If there's no Fry's in your area, print out the ad and take it to your local Best Buy, they will match it.

I just got mine from Amazon.com for $250 with free shipping so that's definitely a good deal.
Be warned though that if you're purchasing this from an online vendor (and at that price I'd think you were) that I read somewhere that Pioneer has a strict warranty policy. They will only honor their warranty if the receiver is bought from an official reseller. As i remember I think they only condsider like 4 places official online sellers of there product (Amazon being one). I've heard of people not being able to get there receivers repaired under warranty because they didn't buy from one of these places.
If this might concern you I'd check with Pioneer before you order to see if the place you're buying from is an authorized retailer.

It's not shoddy of Pioneer to refuse to warranty products from shady or some online retailers, every company does it. They are just trying to protect themselves. And by the way I work at Best Buy and I think we ourselves just put that receiver at 179 dollars, so I guess a lot of people are putting it at that price.

Well it's a price that JUST got updated today, so I would check it out. Maybe I'm wrong but I will let you people know for sure soon, because I work tomorrow.
