I have a Pioneer VSX-D409 receiver and a Pioneer DV-626D DVD/CD-R/CD/etc player. I recently bought a Sony SA-WM40 powered subwoofer which works fine when playing movies, but I'd like to get some output from the sub while playing music CDs/CD-Rs. I know it's possible because they do it at Best Buy, so I'm thinking it has something to do with my receiver setup/mode selection. Someone please advise. Thanks!

just wanted to let you know that i responded in the other thread. definately a receiver setting "thing" as the fact that the sub works with movies rules it out as the culprit. the sub could care less whether it's getting movie sound or cd sound.

well, strictly speaking, it's an inanimate object so it doesn't care about anything, but you know what i mean. http://talk.dvdtalk.com/ubb/wink.gif

Figured out out -- thanks chess. I had my front left and front right speakers set to Large instead of Small.

I'll leave this thread undeleted so others can learn. http://talk.dvdtalk.com/ubb/smile.gif
