I have a Sony DAV-S300 DvD player Free region (region 2 originally). it played all region 1 movies i have without any problems, but it failed to play The Patriot, which is found to be Regional Coding Enhancement (RCE) DvD...

My Q is: is there a way play around with my player to play that DvD ??

Thanks in advance for your replies....

It sounds like you bought a bootleg "region free" chip to remove region encoding from your SONY DVD Player.

The new "Region Coding Enhancement" was created to both enforce adherance to Region Codes and to thwart such bootlegged "region free" chips.

You may want to look to the supplier of your "region free" chip for a resolution.
