The best is the Avia disc hands down. It far more complete and easier to use than the DVD Essentials disc.

Why should you buy one? Simple: Don't you want your system to look and sound the way it was intended?

I've been doing some looking around. The best price I can find for Avia is $50. No discounts anywhere. But everyone seems to call this the best. The best price I can find for Video Essentials is $25 (look at bizrate.com to find the best price at the moment), but Netflix will rent it to you. In fact, I have a copy from them right now. Haven't seen Avia yet, so I can't compare.

My thought is that either will help me get the best video and best audio from my system, plus some information I don't yet know.

Take the Avia guide to home theater DVD for $25 (NEW) from HALF.COM. I haven't bought it yet, though...heck I'm still waiting on my component cables to come for my DVD player.

I ordered mine (Avia) from Barnesandnoble.com since I was able to use one of the $10 off $40 coupons that are everywhere. Just a thought.

I'd also recommend the Avia disc, I really like it. I've heard good things about Video Essentials too though.
