Just bought a new Sony 560 and am looking for a component cable to attach to a Sony Wega. The guy at Radio Shack says all he has is a $40 6 foot cable. Does a component cable come with the DVD player(the player is with my wife right now and she has no idea). Just wondering...because I thought people posted that you could a component cable for around $15. Thanks.

Most players will NOT come with a component video cable. They do, however, usually have both composite and S-Video cables.

So if you want to use the component hook-up, you'll need to get a separate cable.

Thanks. She bought a $70 monster cable which I will be bringing right back to Best Buy. I'm going to hook it up with S cable until I learn more...Anyone know much a decent component cable costs?

Personally, I use a Monster Component Video-3 and it was about $70.

You can get other brands cheaper if you look around. Radio Shack probably has some that would work just fine for significantly less.

Here's a quick listing at soundcity.com. Prices range from $45 to $1500. Yeah, the higher number sounds insane to me, too. ...but they give free shipping on it, so that makes it OK

just go by three 75ohm video cables at radio shack. it's alot cheaper and works the exact same way as component cables. BTW, sony players DON'T come with S-video cables(atleast my 360 didn't)

The 560 came with an S cable along with the 3 colored audio cables. The picture is great so I think I will return the $70 Monster. Thanks to everyone for the advice.
