View Full Version : What's up with Best Buy?
Just got my inbox hosed by 67 eamils from best buy each telling me U571 is backordered!!!! Do they think I ordered that many, or did I get the emails for all of you out there who won't be getting it thanks to their wonderful "order fullfilments". Strange?!?

Yeah, tell me about it. I've just received a whole slew of emails telling me my James Bond Collection Volume 3 has shipped. What gives BB?
I just emailed them. They are definitly having mail server problems.
"Leave the gun. Take the cannoli." - I pray I'll hear these words on dvd some day (excluding "You've Got Mail", thanks chitowndvd).

You know I was just gonna post the same thing. But I only have 7 so far.
"Beat me if you can, survive if I let you"
"What would Brian Boitano do"
Amazing...I figured others would have this problem. Perhaps the server is upset it was not given a Playstation 2 http://talk.dvdtalk.com/ubb/wink.gif
They just responded to my email:
"Greetings from BestBuy.com. Thank you for your question(s) about:

Subject: Re: BestBuy.com Order Completion
Somebody kick the mail servers over there at BB. I've
gotten 9 email shipping confirmations for the same
order. Time to set up a mail filter for you guys.
I'm still getting e-mail from BB. Every hour, I receive about 4 e-mails that the JB3 set was shipped. So far I received 11 e-mails. I hope they sent me 11 copies. http://talk.dvdtalk.com/ubb/smile.gif http://talk.dvdtalk.com/ubb/smile.gif http://talk.dvdtalk.com/ubb/smile.gif

let's just hope that they don't ship/charge for each confirmation.
i already called to check, and thankfully only one authorization has been posted. lastly, the authorization didn't reflect that i'd used the $20 GC, so hopefully it will post a $20 credit (a la buy.com.)

LOL. 14 email confirmations of shipping for my ONE order for the james bond #3 set. Let's all hope that those of us who are finally getting this set will not have to go through another exchange process with MGM about octopussy and living daylights missing subtitles. http://talk.dvdtalk.com/ubb/smile.gif
I just got 13 (no way now make it 14!) emails saying my James Bond Box set shipped.
I guess I can't complain, finally got them to ship it for the $39 plus tax.
I don't mind if they charge me 14 times as long as they ship 14 box sets. Heck at that price I'll take 100 of them!!!
I'm sure it'll just be once though.
woohoo...13 james bond #3 sets...
Shame they are all the same order #. And I better get that big credit...they canceled my first order and I had to call and place another order for $109 so I'm supposed to get a $60 credit...maybe they'll give me 13 credits...that would be cool http://talk.dvdtalk.com/ubb/wink.gif
28 e-mails total about 2 purchases.
What's worse, I tried to return to a local BB the From Dusk 'Til Dawn single that they shipped instead of the box set. The order number on the receipt they sent was wrong. It came up as The Negotiator (for $9.99) instead of FDTD even though FDTD was printed on the receipt. I went back to the web site and printed the order's receipt that had a different order number. Hope that one's right.
These guys need some computer help!

Had the same problem trying to return my DTD single disk. They said the computer said that the item was not returnable at the store, and I should go home and call BB on-line customer service. Taking into account that I'd already put in over 30 mins at that point, and having seen the commercials that are airing here in CA that claim the return process for on-line purchases to B&M are "easy", and the fact that I'd called BB on-line to cancel the order and was assured the single movie DVD wouldn't ship (this was shipped 10/18) I refused to leave without my refund. After another 20 mins, another "manager" came to the desk and said there was a problem with the system. I was then offered a BestBuy store credit on one of those gift cards. With Christmas coming, I'm sure I'll have occasion to use it up.
So if you haven't returned your disc yet, and have a problem when you get there, you may want to ask about just getting a store credit and saving yourself some time & trouble.
