Hey Everyone,
I know the layer change pause isn't a big deal but I wanted to get a new player in the next year, to replace my old player from 98, and I have heard that there was going to be players that would have enough buffer to cancel out the quick pause on layer changes but don't know if they are out or when they will be. Any suggestions or ideas on a current player that would be good if those kind wont be out soon...? Price isn't really an object as long as its under $1k. Thanks in Advance.
Happy New Year!

Hi and welcome.
With the high-end market of DVD players being as good as they are theses days, I suspect layer changing shouldn't even be noticed these days.
Any one else have an opinion?

With my Harman/Kardon DVD player, I haven't noticed the pause.

The best player I ever saw or heard of for layer changes is the lowly Apex 600A. I have never, ever detected a layer change on my Apex. I very often can on my midrange Sony (650D). I used to take DVD's out of the Sony after seeing the layer change and put them into the Apex to see what would happen but the Apex never showed the change even when I was looking for it. So much for the price/layer change ability considerations.
