Yes... it happened... the mistake was made somewhere down the line where the firmware on my dvd player was upgraded with the wrong model. It was upgraded with 600H instead of 520H... so, basically... it won't let me fix it by trying to flash it with the right firmware. I got this dvd player second hand, or third hand, or something... my question is, is it scrap now? Or can it be fixed? Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

first off, you gave a model number but not a brand. What brand is it? That might make a difference whether it can be easily fixed or not.

Well, I gave the brand, but it was in the subject, I should have put it in the body too. It's a DVS DSR 520H.

Wow, my bad, I didn't realize DVS was the brand. Never heard of them before.

Hey that's ok. What sucks is they're located in Korea... their support webpage e-mail service won't work and of course... no phone numbers...
