Amazon says it does, but no picture of back. I went to a store and didn't see one. So does the Toshiba SD-1600 have coaxial output?

Yes, DD and DTS coax -- not optical. Sometimes it helps to go to the manufacturer's site: http://www.toshiba.com/tacp/dvd/SD1600.html

No, no no no no. The SD-1600 does not have coax output, if you buy one and your TV has coax in only, you will need to buy an RF modulator ($30) or buy a new TV.

For video, you have component output (best), S-video output (2nd best), or an RCA jack output to the TV (not good), or you can buy an RF modulator to have coax input to your TV (not good, but better than a VCR).

By the way, if you buy an SD-1600 before 12/31/00, there is a $15 rebate available from Pepsi, do a search on the Toshiba rebate under teh Bargains section. You will need to call Pepsi and request the form, then mail it, plus your receipt and UPC code from the box, to Toshiba.

Whoa, good save. I never even thought he might have meant video coax -- like cable TV. But it does have what Toshiba calls Coaxial Digital Audio Output for DD and DTS.
