I feel that these are criminally underrated and I still don't understand how Phillip Rhee was unable to leverage them into a better career.

This was a breakthrough for the martial arts movie in 1989. It featured a rag tag group of Americans having to join together to defeat the undefeated Korean Taekwondo team. Think Miracle but with Martial Arts. With Eric Roberts, Chris Penn, James Earl Jones and Phillip Rhee it was well acted, well done and underrated. 4/5

A bit more goofy. When his friend is murdered in an underground fight tournament(like there is any others) Eric Roberts and Phillip Rhee get revenge. More cornball and has very little to do with the original but with a cast including Rhee, Roberts, Chris Penn, Meg Foster, Ralf Moeller and Wayne Newton it's pretty damn fun. 4/5

This started two things. It was the first movie in the series and it was also the first to have Rhee's Tommy Lee character be entirely different from the movie before(the movie was originally called Homecoming and focused on a black marine). Rhee goes to visit his sister and finds out that the town where they live in is being taken over by skinheads. The movie for a straight to video release is still entertaining as hell. The bad guys are hateful, the action and fights are great and Gina Gershon is hot 4/5.

The final movie in the series. After Rhee's character get hold of a computer chip the bad guys come to get it back. Not the best in the series but Rhee carries it, and it yet again has some damn good fights in it, including one where he takes on a room full or martial artists in the bad guys liar. I still enjoy it enough to give it a 4/5.

So if you want to enjoy some fun 90's martial arts movies, then check out the Best of the Best series. 3 and 4 are both on Netflix but 1 and 2 are harder to find.

I thought part one would have been better without Eric Roberts. Phillip and Simon Rhee's (the guy with the eyepatch) choreography was really good.

The 2nd film was weak. I only watched it once. The 3rd was entertaining and I never saw the 4th.
