Marlon (NBC) -- S: Marlon Waynes, Essence Atkins

Loosely inspired by the real life of star Marlon Wayans ("In Living Color," "Scary Movie"), this update to the classic family comedy centers on a loving (but inappropriate) father committed to co-parenting his two kids with his very-together ex-wife. While his misguided fatherly advice, unstoppable larger-than-life personality and unpredictable Internet superstardom might get in the way sometimes, for Marlon family really always does come first - even if he's the biggest kid of all. The cast includes Marlon Wayans, Essence Atkins, Bresha Webb, Diallo Riddle, Notlim Taylor and Amir O'Neil.

Promos haven't been great but I'll be watching just cause it's Marlon. We'll see if I can see him as anything other than Loc Dog.

Marlon Wayans apparently doesn't age. I just watched his butt naked Netflix movie in large part for Eliza Coupe (plus the humor of her going from Damon Wayans Jr to his uncle), and he still looks like he's in his 20s.

I've always liked Marlon Wayans but this show seems like it was written for someone else and they just forced Marlon into it. It was just terrible. Why bring in Marlon Wayans if you're not going to let the guy really run with a more interesting character?
That was about as cookie cutter of a sitcom as you can get, right down to the cruddy laugh track. They could pretty much plug anyone into all the different roles, it's that by the numbers. I don't see this lasting, at all..

10 episode second season starts tonight.
06/14/2018 (09:00PM - 09:30PM) (Thursday) : Marlon (Marlon Wayans) convinces Ashley (Essence Atkins) to let Zack model for a kids' athletic line after he is approached in a mall. After the shoot, Stevie (Diallo Riddle), Yvette (Bresha Webb), Marlon and Ashley are horrified to see that the photos have been altered as the shirt he is modeling now contains the phrase "Funky Monkey." Ashley and Marlon decide to pull Zack from the campaign after the advertising executives fail to see the racism of the shirt. TV-PG D, L

Added this back to my recordings since I assumed it was cancelled after last season. Not great but good enough during the summer.
