TBS's newest comedy series The Guest Book is set to premiere Thursday, Aug. 3, with back-to-back episodes starting at 10 p.m. (ET/PT). The Guest Book emerged from Emmy(R) winner and series creator Greg Garcia's habit of writing fictitious stories in the guest books of various rental cabins in an effort to freak out the next renters. Now he is bringing those stories to life on TBS. While the house and cast of characters living in this small mountain town remain the same, each episode will feature a different set of vacationing guests. The Guest Book's regular and recurring cast members include Kellie Martin (Army Wives) as Officer Kimberly Leahy, Charlie Robinson (Hart of Dixie) as Wilfrid, Aloma Wright (Suits) as Emma, Carly Jibson (Broadway's Hairspray) as Vivian, and Frank, played by Lou Wilson (Tween Fest). Rounding out the first season cast is Garret Dillahunt (Raising Hope) as Andrew, Laura Bell Bundy (Scream Queens) as Jessica and Eddie Steeples (My Name Is Earl) as Eddie.

This wasn't very good at all. I have no idea how I made it through both episodes. TBS knew it wasn't very good by dumping it in the dog days of early August.
It's basically going to be a rotating cast of guest actors with an ensemble of the town's citizens returning each episode.

Damn, I planned to tune in for the Greg Garcia factor (Earl, Raising Hope). Hopefully it gets better.

Re: The Guest Book (TBS) -- from creator of My Name Is Earl
Watched about 10 minutes and wasn't impressed. I was hoping to like it, as there hasn't been much to watch this summer for me.
Only part I really laughed at was the "punched lasagna" joke, but I'm pretty sure I've heard that joke before.
Deleted both episodes from DVR.

I really liked both episodes. I'm surprised at the other comments. For me it was every bit as funny as Wrecked and feels like a worthy follow-up to Earl and Raising Hope.

I was coming to post pretty much the same thing. I just got around to watching this, and I loved Earl and Hope and it's not to that level but it's definitely better than The Millers (though that really isn't saying much). I do like the Garret Dillahunt and Eddie Steeples are recurring characters, and so far they've had cool guest stars so hopefully they keep that up.

I like the concept but feel like the execution was middle of the road. The first episode almost felt like they forgot it was supposed to be funny.

I'm surprised they didn't do it in the summer again, I feel like this is a show that's more likely to get lost with all of the normal fall programming.
