THE MIST stars Morgan Spector, Alyssa Sutherland, Gus Birney, Danica Curcic, Okezie Morro, Luke Cosgrove, Darren Pettie, Russell Posner, Dan Butler, Isiah Washington, Jr. and Frances Conroy.

So far this is sort of terrible. The acting is pretty bad. But I am only 10 mins in, so it could get better. Can't really get worse.

I may have to keep watching this because it is so bad. Sort of like Under the Dome. It is comically bad.

It is safe to say this makes the movie look like an AFI top 50 movie of all time.

Episodes 2 and 3 are on the Spike app. I just finished them, and it doesn't get any better. Very dull and disappointing!

Watched 1-3... A lot different than the movie for sure.
I like it though, but the CGI effects are pretty bad...

I thought about watching the premiere but read some really bad reviews. I figured I'd wait to see what the reaction was here before adding another show that I don't really have time to watch. It looks like I won't bother.

My son and I enjoyed it in an MST3K kind of way but I don't think we'll bother with the remaining episodes. Talk about a paint by numbers TV show with a totally predictable plot -- we were practically saying the exact lines that came out of their mouths mere seconds later. Was this written, directed, and acted by robots?

This was so bad. And I'm a big fan of the novella and Darabont movie. Just awful.

This kind of garbage really makes me angry. Every character is immediately horrible. I want them all to die NOW. Stephen King is clearly cashing every paycheck he can before he dies. Just embarrassing. The extras should've been the leads. This should've been cancelled at the table read.

It was terrible but not fair to compare it to Under the Done. That was fucking ridiculous.

This forum though pretty much universally hates on everything, so I figured it would be the same here. I'd say watch the first three episodes and form your own opinion, otherwise if you just rely on others to make your opinions for you, you'd probably never watch anything as there will always be someone out there that doesn't like something. Not everyone likes the same things. My summer TV schedule is fairly light (only Game of Thrones, The Strain, and Midnight Texas this year), so I figured I'd give it a chance.

It's definitely not as nice as the movie (which I really enjoyed), but it's not oh so terrible. It was also weird re-watching that movie a year ago and realizing almost all of The Walking Dead cast members were in it.

You must cherry pick because this is so far from the truth to be a ridiculous statement.

Re: The Mist (Spike) -- based on the Stephen King story -- Season 1 Thread -- 6/22/17

Show is ok. People do stupid things. Things happen for reasons. I'll probably keep watching but it isn't a must watch. Much better than Under the Dome but so is my poo. The main focus is the horrible people. The Mist is just a reason to force the people to deal with each other so far.

The worse part so far is that the mist doesn't seem to follow any rules. This makes the mist rather boring and it is a sign of weak writing. The best thing is the creative way they have killed people. Some problematic things are people might not like how rape and being gay is handled in the show.

Anyway I would say if you liked the trailer give it a shot.

That's unfortunate. A missed (mist?) opportunity. You can get creative kills from any slasher show.

How was he with all the horrible iterations of his stories on film? you take the good (Misery, Shawshank), but then the very bad (Thinner, Dreamcatcher) and you have such a strange hodge-podge of adaptations...

Most of his adaptations have been piss-poor.

And it's too bad with such rich material. Need more Stand By Me and Shawshank Redemption's. Hope this new It movie does something, but I don't know...

Re: The Mist (Spike) -- based on the Stephen King story -- Season 1 Thread -- 6/22/17

Lot of stupidity and sloppy writing !

Spoiler:
In episode 2, in the shopping mall, they make a big deal of drawing lots to see who would go to the security office to use the radio, yet when the two people go do this, the rest wait in another part of the mall, not right outside the door to the admin area ? and there is no way they wouldn't hear the gun shot
