Yeah, that Martha scene was rough. She's still breaking our heart.
The stuff with Stan is interesting-- will he willingly betray Burov to find Gad's killer? I liked the scene with the wife "He would want revenge!"
I'm still a little confused about what Tuan said he was doing in Harrisburg PA. Did he say he was going there to make a call to see how his brother was doing? Also did anyone understand the scene between Phillip and the "priest"? I didn't follow that.
As much as I still like this show and admire its refusal to repeat itself, I can't escape the feeling that this season is not as good or as interesting as the show was last year. It's a little disappointing.

He was going there to call his adoptive brother who has cancer.
The priest was one of Gabriel's operatives who doesn't have a handler.

Question for Americans watchers, back in S3 Philip befriended an underage or at least very young girl so he could get into the house and plant listening devices. She was getting so she wanted to bang Philip and he was running out of excuses. Whatever happened to her? Don't remember the conclusion of that story arc.

I'm starting to sense a theme to this Season as people close to Phillip and Elizabeth are leaving them. Gabriel going back to USSR and Henry wanting to go Boarding School in New Hampshire.
Since USSR loses the Cold War is this foreshadowing a very bad ending for Phillip and Elizabeth and maybe even Paige? With Henry possibly going away that probably means he will not be in the family business as he maybe the only one who makes it through the Series Finale?
Just my theory.....

it's as creepy as it was then, as it is now that she turned 17, if I'm reading backwards candles any good.

What's funny is the life of the child the two of them are heavily involved in is a complete shitshow. The child who they've shown little interest in is thriving.

As for Paige, he knew it was a bad idea to bring in the 2nd generation because the kids are American-ized and just don't understand what they are really fighting for. I am starting to believe it will not end well for Phillip, Elizabeth and Paige (maybe one of them survives as that will be more sad that they will have to live with that guilt) as anyone that is still attached to them next season will meet a tragic fate.
I've been beating the drum that not a lot happened this season, but this episode had some huge storylines that made me sort of reassess this season. This was probably the best episode of the season.

I'm surprised they weren't a little more on board with Henry's idea. It would eliminate the whole crisis of whether to tell him or not about their actual lives.
I really like the Martha scene. Nice to remind us what happened to her and to show what her life is like now.

I just saw the episode where she popped back in. Very strange to have that big a gap. I know they kept the story moving with all the stuff happening to Martha but it seems strange he wouldn't see her for so long then go right back to seeing her and planting the bug. Couple more episodes then I'm done with S4.

I think it showed how unprepared they were for the 2nd generation as they are essentially winging it with their kids. Instead of thinking outside the box and realizing this was a way to keep Henry out of the family business, they were offended that he wanted to go to some 'Private' School, something they never had the opportunity as kids.
