The Comedy Jam (on Comedy Central)
The basic premise is a comedian does a short standup routine, then talks about a song that has meaning for them. Then they perform the song. Now, don't go expecting Andrea Bocelli, but it's kind of a step up from Lip Sync Battle in that they actually sing (for better or for worse).
In the first episode, Tiffany Haddish did Proud Mary (Tina Turner), Chris Hardwick (Talking Dead) did Wanted Dead or Alive (Bon Jovi), and Bobby Lee did an X-Rated version of Do You Think I'm Sexy (Rod Stewart).
It looks like it airs Wednesday nights. At least the first episode can be streamed from Comedy Central's site.
If you like comedy and older music, you might get some enjoyment out of this. It's kind of refreshing not to have to sit through 5 minutes of sob life story and 5 minutes of judge's commentary to get a 90-second performance.
