List of Godzilla and all related films?

I've seen a few Godzilla films here and there and would like to go back and watch all of them from the beginning. It's easy to find a list of every Godzilla film, but what I'm having trouble finding is a list of all Godzilla and related films in the same 'universe'. As in, I want a list of every film featuring Godzilla as well as featuring any other monsters that appeared in Godzilla films, so including stuff like Mothra and Rodan. Can anyone point me in the direction of such a list?

If you're talking about Toho films/monsters, I think this list covers them all--although it also includes sci-fi,fantasy and horror films that they made that aren't part of that universe:

Yep, that's about as comprehensive as it gets. You've got a solid 35 or so films ahead of you, so have fun! Those old Showa era titles are solid gold.

Kind of weird that Throne of Blood is on that there, but I guess supernatural elements count as sci if for that list.

I love some of those slightly less well-known titles, which I never saw as a kid but caught up on in my adult years--like The Mysterians, Atragon, Battle in Outer Space and Dogora. Great fun and classy productions.

I think that, if you're only interested in Showa Godzilla, you have the fifteen Godzilla movies, plus Mothra and Rodan.

Godzilla 1954
Godzilla Raids Again
Rodan
Mothra
King Kong vs Godzilla
Mothra vs Godzilla
Ghidorah the Three Headed Monster
Godzilla vs Monster Zero
Godzilla vs The Sea Monster
Son of Godzilla
Destroy All Monsters
All Monsters Attack
Godzilla vs Smog Monster
Godzilla vs Gigan
Godzilla vs Megalon
Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla
Terror of Mechagodzilla

That list is nice but I was hoping to find just the ones in the same universe. Josh-da-man's list is a good example of what I'm looking for, although I'm interested in all eras of Godzilla. Also I did just stumble across Varan the Unbelievable yesterday so that should be in the Showa list too.

I'm gonna look around some more, but if I can't find what I'm looking for I'll probably end up doing the research and making the list myself.

You got to include the Gamera series too!

While it's not part of any Godzilla continuity, War of the Gargantuas is one of the best Toho kaiju movies ever. It is a must see kaiju movie!

And I would also suggest the 1990's Gamera trilogy as well.

Actually it is, though Gorosaurus (?) was the monster who attacked Paris in Destroy All Monsters, it was intended and named in the film as Baragon. Baragon fought Frankenstein Monster in Frankenstein Conquers the World, which leads to War of the Gargantuas. Baragon also in Millennial series, all out attack and final wars if I recall correctly.

Re: List of Godzilla and all related films?

I'd add Atragon to Josh's list since you'll see Manda in Destroy All Monsters. You already mentioned Varan who makes the briefest of appearances in DAM.

It sounds like you want to watch all Godzilla films, so maybe add The Mysterians too see what M.O.G.U.E.R.A. is an homage to in Godzilla vs. Spacegodzilla.

As far as War of the Gargantuas, Gaira makes a brief appearance in Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla, so there's also that connection. In Godzilla Tokyo S.O.S., you see the carcass of Kamoebas, so that connects Space Amoeba.

Happy viewing, and let us know how it goes!
