The second season of AMC's martial arts drama, "Into the Badlands," debuts on Sunday, March 19th at 10:05 p.m. ET/PT. The premiere episode, "Tiger Pushes Mountain," picks up six months after the Season 1 finale, Sunny finds a new foe, as well as a new, unexpected ally, while M.K. learns about his gift in a mysterious place.
Check out a sneak peek of the premiere episode here: http://www.amc.com/shows/into-the-badlands
Season two of the martial arts drama finds Sunny (Daniel Wu) and M.K. (Aramis Knight) separated and scattered to the wind, each imprisoned in unlikely places. While M.K. struggles to control his powers, Sunny is determined to fight his way back into the Badlands to find his family or die trying. On their journey, Clipper and Colt are assisted by new allies whose motivations may be anything but pure. Meanwhile, The Widow (Emily Beecham) continues to consolidate power against the other Barons, while a dark and mysterious threat prepares to exact revenge on them all. Alliances are struck, friendships betrayed, and by season's end, Sunny and M.K.'s lives will be forever altered.
"Into the Badlands" was created by showrunners/executive producers/writers Alfred Gough and Miles Millar and executive produced by Oscar(R)-nominated producers Stacey Sher and Michael Shamberg, director David Dobkin, fight director Stephen Fung and Daniel Wu. The series stars Wu (Tai Chi Zero) as Sunny; Aramis Knight (The Dark Knight Rises) as M.K.; Oliver Stark ("Luther") as Ryder; Emily Beecham (28 Weeks Later) as The Widow; Orla Brady ("Dr. Who," "Fringe") as Lydia; Sarah Bolger ("Once Upon a Time," "The Tudors") as Jade; Ally Ioannides ("Parenthood") as Tilda; Madeleine Mantock (Edge of Tomorrow) as Veil; Stephen Lang (Avatar, Don't Breathe) as Waldo and Nick Frost as Bajie (Shaun of the Dead).

The opening scene had some incredible martial arts choreography for television, it was theatrical quality. Probably the best fight scene I've ever seen on cable.
Sadly, the rest of the episode was garbage and reminded me why I didn't like season one very much. Daniel Wu is about the only convincing actor on this show. Everyone else feels plucked from a Disney kids production.

I'll probably let a few episodes build up before I dig into this.

Recorded it, looking forward to it, not sure when I will get to it though.
I was hoping AMC would marathon Season 1 leading up to the premiere. Or did they and I just missed it?

Don't feel bad, Abob. I had completely forgotten what had happened in the first season. With no recap, I am going to have to go back and watch some of season 1 again.... uh... if I can convince myself it is worth my time.

I dug the premiere. It's an entertaining show, I'm in as long as its around. The Black Widow is badass (and sexy).
I also had to go back and read the 1st season's synopsis, barely remembered anything that had happened.

Not much has changed from season one: some of the best fights and production value on television mostly wasted by paper thin characters/shitty acting.
The redhead is hot though.

Wow... caught about half the last episode a while back knowing nothing about the show. Going to binge season 1 over the weekend.
Now this is how you put together a show about martial artists. Miles better than that other show on Netflix.

I wonder if the First AD is required to know The Heimlich Manuever in case Martin Czokas ever chokes on the scenery.

Ok, what was in the water?
I can't believe Baaji stole Sunny's motorcycle and went off on his own, esp. being wounded.
And speaking of being wounded, Sunny shot twice with flaming arrows, stabbed multiple times, and it doesn't slow him down.
Then there's Quinn, run clean thru twice and still able to get up and kill Vail.

You'd think Sonny being the elite killer he is would have made sure Quinn was actually dead. It's this very reason Quinn survived last season. Then he does the same thing during the finale which ultimately cost him. Seems like lame writing to me, and the moment Henry was handed to Sonny, I knew exactly what was about to go down.

Just caught up
Overall enjoyed it. Action scenes though sparse were all good.
The problem is there aren't enough quality characters and story for 10 episodes of 50 minutes each
That's Game of Thrones length
The season started off well outside the badlands, but didn't really expand on the other world
Show still has heaps of potential, just needs revamping for a third season

I liked the season overall, but the death of Sunny's wife was so dumb. I also think the reveal that Nick Frost's character is a martial arts master himself was lame. Most unbelievable thing ever.
Still, will tune in next season. The fight scenes are alot of fun.

Yeah Sunny's wifes death was dumb, as if he wouldn't have cut Quinn's head off
Buy Veil was an annoying character and a weakness for Sunny so i'm not upset she's killed off
they need to introduce some new cool credible characters next season

The fight scenes are incredible, Kurosowa would be proud. But I agree outside of Wu the acting on this show is ludicrously bad, although I did enjoy Quinn chewing scenery whenever he was on screen. Veil was useless. Love the Widow. Not sure what the ending of the season 2 means for the future of the show but I'll still watch.
