DC's Legends of Tomorrow (S2E14) -- "Moonshot" -- 3/14/17

HOUSTON, WE HAVE A PROBLEM - When the Legends track Commander Steel (guest star Matthew MacCaull) to NASA Headquarters in 1970, they learn where Nate's (Nick Zano) grandfather hid the last fragment of the Spear of Destiny. The team notices a time aberration during the Apollo 13 mission and believes that the Legion of Doom might be involved. As the Legends journey into space to intercept Apollo 13, the Waverider suffers massive internal damage and Ray's (Brandon Routh) life is left in jeopardy when he is stranded on the moon. Meanwhile, tension grows between Rip (Arthur Darvill) and Sara (Caity Lotz) as to who is the leader of the team. Victor Garber, Franz Drameh, Maisie Richarson-Sellers and Dominic Purcell also star. Kevin Mock directed the episode written by Grainne Godfree (#214). Original airdate 3/14/2017.

Wait. Why doesn't super-speed work without gravity?

At least they finally managed to work The Banana Boat Song in to the show.

So Thawne runs off an in-flight ship to where exactly?

Maybe for running yet I did a "what?" when they said that. His arms, movement, perception can still move at super speed.

I got misty eyed with Thawne mentioned he missed working with Caitlin and Cisco.

at Stein singing Day-O

I was crying when he did that. It was so random and hilarious.

I did think it was funny that Franz Drameh got to actually speak with his normal English accent in this episode, although briefly.

I love how fun this show is and have no problem "suspending disbelief" as long as the craziness is consistent in the world created. That said, if Ray's suit could fly to the orbiter, why didn't he just fly down to the flag first and retrieve the piece of the spear?

It wasn't that, he couldn't use his super speed otherwise Black Flash would find him and he couldn't go anywhere.

Good episode. I'm undecided if I would like a new cast each season or if I want Nate and Amiah to stay for next season.

No, they (I think Palmer) specifically stated that Thawne's super-speed wouldn't work in the no-gravity.

At one point they were on the moon. The moon has gravity.

Like I care. I enjoy this show too much to care about them violating the rules of comic book physics.

Thawne still should have been able to kick Ray's ass, even if he couldn't run. He still thinks and moves at super-speed. Thawne should have been able to figure out how to navigate in Zero-G instantly.

I live to know how gravity stops his perception of time to normal. Somehow it also stops is arms from going fast.....who knows. Sometimes comic logic is fine other times it's lacking.

Let us never speak of that silly fight between Reverse Flash and Ray inside in a lunar module ever again.

The Arrowverse has never had a good grasp of the Atom's powers. He can literally shrink down to the size of an atom, hence his name. There was no good reason why Reverse Flash should see him.

Also, there's no reason for an unenhanced human to be able to damage Ray's suit.

Wow. This ep could be on How did this get Made podcast.

Human damaged a guy who has an enhanced suit that has the ability to shrink to the size of an ataom.
Atom could have gone straight to the moon to get the piece.

Thawne works at Nasa as a doctor?

I don't buy Thawne can't use speed in zero grav.

It's about time Atom makes a suit that isn't damaged so easliy all the time.
