"Feud" Ryan Murphy's Next FX Anthology series
From "Deadline.com":
Ryan Murphy, who started the current anthology series trend with American Horror Story and added a second hit franchise with American Crime Story, has set up a third anthology series at FX. The network has given a straight-to-series 8-episode order to Feud, which will explore famous feuds. It hails from Fox 21 TV Studios and Plan B, with Brad Pitt executive producing alongside Murphy.
The first installment of Feud will star former AHS leading lady Jessica Lange and Susan Sarandon, leading a high-profile cast that also includes Alfred Molina, Stanley Tucci, Judy Davis and Dominic Burgess. It tells the story of the legendary rivalry between two of the greatest movie stars of all time—Joan Crawford (Lange) and Bette Davis (Sarandon), and how they came together in 1962 to collaborate on a picture each hoped would revive their careers. The result, the critically acclaimed and box office smash What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? ultimately received five Academy Awards nominations and became a cult classic. But for its leads, Joan Crawford and Bette Davis, the real horror was working together. Molina will play the film’s director Robert Aldrich, Tucci will portray studio titan Jack Warner, Davis will play gossip columnist Hedda Hopper and Dominic Burgess will be Crawford and Davis’ co-star Victor Buono.
The pilot is based in part on the script Best Actress by Jaffe Cohen and Michael Zam which Murphy acquired. As he does on all of his series, Murphy will direct several episodes. Production on the first installment is slated to begin this fall for a 2017 premiere.
“Feud adds a third and equally ambitious franchise to Ryan’s unprecedented slate of FX anthological limited series and marks our third such collaboration with studio partner 20th Century Fox Television/Fox 21,” said FX Networks CEO John Landgraf. ” The series will offer a seductive, insightful look at what lies behind legendary personality conflicts.”

The subject matter of the first feud doesn't particularly interest me, but if Murphy tells the story as well as he told The People vs. O.J., I'm sure I'll be enthralled. I'm in.

Oh, that sounds like all levels of awesome. Does anyone remember years ago when MTV did an MTV Movie Award commercial homage to that movie...and used actresses to portray Madonna and Courtney Love...hysterical.

Murphy shows are generally solid for at least a season or two. I'm sure I'll watch some of this.
And honestly I think Anthology series' are awesome, it's like a new mini-series every year.

Ryan Murphy wakes up in the morning and pisses out good ideas. I used an ice cream scoop to scoop out a watermelon and I thought I was fucking Edison.

I love the idea for this, especially the first season, and the show already has a stacked cast. I bet Lange and Sarandon will be having a blast making this.

Been seeing this post all day but didn't click. Then a saw the EW cover on FB and I'm interested. I have a fascination with the Davis/Crawford rivalry.

The promos and the plot just don't click with me. I'm going to skip this series, despite Murphy's reputation. I have too much else to watch anyway.

8 episode 1st season
This is also airing tonight. Just crazy how many shows are competing for eyes on Sunday.
I'm guessing this is going to have very limited appeal to most of you here. Walking Dead is probably going to get the most eyes.
Trailer:
FYI, FX already renewed this for a 2nd season

Yup. I thought this was great too. Anyone who's a fan of classic Hollywood should check this out. I would also say to try and see Baby Jane to have it fresh in your mind.
Also, I applaud of FX for continuing to allow language to be used and not edited.

No one else I know is watching this...or would "get" it. I am going to DVR them all and marathon it. Maybe I will invite my Mom and Aunt over (82 and 78) who gave me my love of Old Hollywood. I'm glad you guys seem to enjoy it, looking forward to it!
