Superbowl LI commecials: the thread

3 1/2 hours until the one time that commercials are (sometimes) worth paying attention to.

It was a marketing genius who convinced people to watch the Superbowl for its commercials.

A Tom Brady commercial for Intel. It was terrible, but in any case I haven't seen a commercial with him since a Visa one like a decade ago.

That CRV yearbook commercial was pretty good. Though it had nothing to do with the car and I won't remember it was about a CRV next week.

The most creative so far - but that's not saying much. Where's Budweiser? I just recall a single spot for Busch beer.

I feel like these are some of the most aimless commercials in a very long time. Pretty much none of them have been memorable.

I'm also surprised so many movie trailers are snippets with tags to go watch the full trailer online.

From my friend who works in Advertising..

Sick of all these bandwagoners who don't watch all year but when the #Superbowl comes around they're all "OH YEAH I LOVE COMMERCIALS"

Finally a decent spot for Eco. Melissa McCarthy is on a roll.

Is this the lamest year for commercials? Other than the movie ones, nothing is sticking out as overly-memorable.

Are these Scientology ads local or national?

Can't find the GOTG commercial. Didn't see it live, and then came home and went through the Super Bowl on my DVR twice and couldn't find it.

Did my local Fox affiliate broadcast something else over it, or was it shown right before the game started?

Yes and no. Yes, the commercials were unmemorable, but no - this has been a trend for three or four years now.

Nothing really stood out. For all the money these companies pay for these ads, you would think they could come up with better ones than we saw last night.

not sure if anybody outside of Massachusetts saw the latest Shields MRI commercial.

the original one that has been playing for a year:

the new one that played 1/2 hour after the Superbowl:

"Roger that!"

Sucks that there were no Doritos commercials this time. Some of those were pretty awesome over the years.
