Screenarchives - select Twilight Time titles '7 for $70' bundle sale

http://www1.screenarchives.com/bundle.cfm

From the site:
THE TWILIGHT TIME BUNDLE HAS RETURNED! BUY 7 OF THE FOLLOWING TWILIGHT TIME TITLES FOR $70.00! Buy seven of any of the following Twilight Time titles for $70.00 and get a real deal. This is a one-time “package price” of seven titles until they are gone. It’s okay to mix and match — just buy seven of one or one each of these titles. You must have a minimum of seven titles in your cart, but you can also create as many “packages” as you like, as long as you buy seven titles at a time. Final price will be adjusted at checkout.

Thing is there are 8 new titles included in addition to titles from the last round, which made the selection for one bundle pretty easy

Thanks, Laidback. Made up one bundle (two copies of two titles since many of the rest were purchased in last clearance sale for < $10.).

The Mad Magician 3D is clearly listed in the e-mail that I received, but doesn't show up on the bundle page on the website??? Grrrrrr.... --Peter

I can say the Disappearance and The Front are both excellent. I wish I could participate in the sale, but I can't rationalize 7 titles, even at $10 a piece.

Re: Screenarchives - select Twilight Time titles '7 for $70' bundle sale

Sweet! Thanks laidbacklarkin! Ordered:

THE ROOTS OF HEAVEN (1958)
THE DISAPPEARANCE (1977)
ZULU (1964)
THE EDDY DUCHIN STORY (1956)
CONRACK (1974)
RESURRECTED (1989)
GUESS WHO'S COMING TO DINNER (1967)

Probably would have gone in for 1984 (which is on the banner), but seems to be gone.

you are welcome, creekdipper. Now, i will be bummed if they follow this up with another promotion which deeply discounts titles from this sale, even further..like it happened the last time around. But such is the nature of supply and demand :-)

strange. They're offering 1984 as a 'specially priced' title at ONLY $24.95 :-) (at least was so y'day)

I was thinking it has more to do with the sudden spike in popularity of the book ...

It appears that Guess Who's Coming To Dinner is down to around 50+ copies.

It appears as though the TT version might be preferable to Sony's edition as Sony's doesn't seem to have the commentary. Or is it being ported over with the other supplements?

I didn't find 7 titles I'd like to own. That's good... saves me money.

Donald Sutherland starred in The Disappearance and Keifer Sutherland starred in The Vanishing -- and they're both Twilight Time titles. Spooky.

Re: Screenarchives - select Twilight Time titles '7 for $70' bundle sale

In for:

1 FEVER PITCH
1 CONRACK
1 RESURRECTED
3 GUESS WHO'S COMING TO DINNER
3 ZULU
3 EQUUS / IN FROM THE COLD
1 THE FRONT (1976)
1 THE EDDY DUCHIN STORY

Already bought GUESS, ZULU and EQUUS during the $20 sales; selling the duplicates up here more than offsets the difference paid then. The others are blind buys that may or may not stay in the collection.

Re: Screenarchives - select Twilight Time titles '7 for $70' bundle sale

Yeah, I suspect the cart trick will still work when they're actually below the 50 copy threshold (or something close). In the last sale, I noticed a couple actually did dip below 50 before they announced them on FB. As in, putting 50 in the cart netted you, say, 44, then 43, 42, etc. Thought that might be what was happening with GUESS, but obviously not. Tested it with ZULU with 56 copies (i.e. 8 'bundles') not long after I posted previously, and likewise it forced me to 49 (7 bundles) plus 1 separate, but changing that 1 to 50 gave me 98 copies on the main item.

Re: Screenarchives - select Twilight Time titles '7 for $70' bundle sale

Further to the above, I've had a bunch of these sale titles in the 'saved for later' (or whatever) section of my cart since the previous bundle sale, at 50 copies each, and I've just noticed that:

WAYWARD BUS is down to 38 copies
BITE THE BULLET is down to 23 copies

I don't see these mentioned on either TT's or SA's Facebook pages, but maybe I'm not looking in the right place?

Also, not part of the sale, but:

10 to MIDNIGHT is down to 45 copies.
