FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - An all new extended 85-minute episode of television's number #1 show, AMC's "The Walking Dead," airs Sunday, November 13th at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. The season seven premiere delivered 20.8 million total viewers, according to Nielsen live+3 ratings. Critics continue to rave about season seven, including Brandon Davis of Comicbook.com, who said, "'The Walking Dead' has proven, again, it is a force to be reckoned with. The foundation has been laid for what can play out as the most visceral, engaging, and somehow still lovable series on television."

On the fourth episode, "Service" - written by Corey Reed and directed by David Boyd - we get to see how the remaining members of our group are holding together in Alexandria while they receive a very sobering visit.

At least all the extra commercials won't be political ads.

Did that really need to be an extra 25 minutes?

I know it wasn't intentional as the ep. was shot several months ago, but tonight's show was very timely for some people in America.

At least we officially know the truth about Judith.

Skipped the comments since I haven't watched it yet, but the last time we got an 85 minute episode it was an extra 25 minutes of commercials.

Yes, how else would they have gotten in the extra 30 mins of commercials?

I'm surprised they don't make all the main cast episodes longer going forward, since it looks like next week is going in another direction as well.

Well, it was better than the last 2 episodes, but for me it's been a dull season so far. I think the audience understands who's in charge, and we don't need it pounded into our heads and dragged out for 85 minutes. What I don't get is why Michonne is so ready to fight when she was the one who said "we get it" after Negan killed Glenn and Abraham and then pushed Rick to chop off Carl's arm.

Re: The Walking Dead (S7E04) -- 85 minute episode -- "Service" -- 11/13/16

Michonne misses the zombie repeatedly, but accidentally got a deer?

Laughed my ass off at Father Gabriel's introduction to Negan. Finally a small payoff for Father G!

Whole lot of graybeards ...

God I hate Rick. Fucking idiot begins admonishing everybody but forgot about the woman he is sleeping with.

Writing slip-up: Rosita and Spencer (I thought Spencer was dead) don't know Negan is looking for two specific guns, yet she asks "What? Are you going to tell them?"

Negan making Rick carry Lucille ... Brilliant!

Sorry, I agree with Spencer.

What did Michonne see burning? I rewound it a few times and couldn't figure it out. Looked like gravestones ... ???

Looks like this will be a long drawn out season.

^The burning was all the mattresses they just took.

The initial view looked like a crashed spaceship.

I think they talked about how Negan's crew taking their guns before they left meant they were going to be taking all their guns, so they sort of worked it out while they were out getting the bike.

Those were the mattresses they took. It showed they didn't even want them, they just wanted to take them.

Yeah, looks like there will be at least another three treadmill episodes before maybe something will move the story forward.

Regarding commercials, JFC. If I didn't have the ability to skip them, I wouldn't make it through these episodes. At one point there were 4 minutes of commercials, then 5 minutes of show, then 3 minutes of commercials. It's still really annoying, even when you can skip them.

Really just a countdown until Negan dies a horrible death.

Of course that will not even be until spring.

I was watching with my brother and he said the same thing. I had no idea what I was looking at. After going back a couple of times I realized it was the mattresses.

Re: The Walking Dead (S7E04) -- 85 minute episode -- "Service" -- 11/13/16

Consensus from other message boards:

The Saviour story arc is boring, and (although we like Jeffrey Dean Morgan as an actor) will the much-anticipated archvillain Negan just shut up???

Also, the Rick/Daryl broken man issue is not believable. Rick is a wimp and Daryl is faking. The balloon girl (Erin?) has more stones than any of the other Alexandrians.

Very disappointed with this season.

Well, they're presenting the character pretty much as he was written; clearly, Kirkman was "having fun" writing Negan's dialogue, and he never stopped talking.

That being said, last night's episode probably didn't need to be that long.

I think you're right about Negan's dialog matching what Kirkman wrote in the comics, but I don't think that's a good thing. Some of his dialog is silly and uninspired (stuff like "eenie meenie miney moe", "easy peasy lemon squeezy" and "pee pee pants city"). Also, I know he curses a lot in the comics, but I think it loses its impact when you do it constantly. I think a well-timed f-bomb means more and can have more shock value versus littering every sentence with it. I know that word can't be used on this show; instead, we get bombarded with "shit" every time Negan's in an episode. Between his words, swagger, never-ending grin and overdressing for hot weather, I think Negan is ridiculous, and he can't leave soon enough for me.

A bit surprised at the spoiler in next week's preview.

I know the backlash would be utter carnage, but had I been in Rick's position I think there's a very good chance I'd have used Lucille on Negan. Especially during the armory scene when they weren't surrounded by his men.

Rick should've used the rocket launcher on Negan and the Saviors.

Heath and Tara should still have guns when they return from their scavenging trip.

Fell asleep near the end. Soooo long

Rick could have at least taken a swing with Lucille. But its the first half of the season and that always brings us pussy Rick.
