Another solid episode. It's nice to see the show explore the characters' back stories.

Re: Timeless (S1E05) -- "The Alamo" -- 10/31/16

Solid episode. Really enjoyed the Alamo setting.

Another episode where they managed to get lucky and stop Flynn without screwing up history. Luckily Lucy was able to write that letter close enough to how it was supposed to be seen.

Still curious what exactly Flynn is aiming to do with these exploits and some of them being unsuccessful.

They've done a pretty good job with the costumes and set designs.

Glad the show got a few more episodes. 16 seems like a decent amount to be able to tell the the 1st season. That's essentially a cable season. Definitely cuts out potential filler episodes.

Seemed like they basically confirmed that people are being blackmailed and Flynn is telling the truth (not the bad guy).

Enjoying this series so far. But like a few before it, part of me wishes it was a limited series run so we would get a resolution before it gets silly with filler and changing their planned end game for the story arc.

Flynn might be telling the truth, but he can still be the bad guy.

That will depend on where they take it and if people view him that way simply because he chooses to kill people along the way. But I can see this where he is just taking a different direction on taking the out main bad guys (in the past) that are blackmailing people (in the present) into doing their bidding.

This was a great episode. Probably my favorite one so far.

I like how Wyatt's military honor transcended throughout history. Doesn't matter what century you're in, your honor doesn't change.

I could only watch 5 minutes of this episode before deleting the series from my DVR. Though it has nothing to do with my personal taste I can't see this getting a second season.

Enjoyed this. I like how they specifically had Lucy say, "I don't know every historical fact and letter ever written."

Would have been nice to show Flynn seeing them reduce the women and children since his plan backfired.

I hope in the next episode or two Rufus tells Wyatt and Lucy what's going on with the spying and Rittenhouse.

It's not bad but not blowing me away

Probably the only thing keeping me interested is the gang meeting famous people in history like Ian Flemming and in this one Crockett and Jim Bowie

For a moment I thought they were going to have someone remember it word for word.

Enjoying the series so far. Not appointment TV, but we try to watch every episode on Tuesday or Wednesday (Hulu).

But yeah, the main story it isn't that important to me so far, but what they do in each episode, what period they visit, etc. that's where I'm having some enjoyment. Lucy looking for her sister? Yawn. Rufus having a conscience? Yawn.

I'm enjoying Timeless. I don't think it's going to have intricate plotting or master storytelling.

What draws me in are the three main characters and their personalities. Lucy is a historian and they've given her a realistic emotional palette for what she has already experienced. Rufus knows tech given his background.

This whole Flynn thing seems more confusing than tension building.

I was really liking it then poof, it was over. Kind of like sex but without the cuddling. The people they are meeting seem to be more interesting than the story they have set up. Hopefully if it is on the fence, they will do like Chuck and have a season finale that could be a series finale if it doesn't get renewed.

Re: Timeless (S1E05) -- "The Alamo" -- 10/31/16

I get they are going with the episodic approach, but there needs to be more spent on setting up the season arc. I think a few things would have helped thus far:

1) set up more presence and relationship with the sister before she disappeared
2) show more of their struggle and consequences in the present
3) more details on Rittenhaus

I might be cliche, but the new fiancé at the center of Rittenhaus could have been a good angle. Lucy would have needed to be careful in both timezones.

Maybe they'll pull a rabbit and reveal that a lot of elements we've seen to date have been puzzle pieces and have a bit reveal with a payoff.

Definitely still waiting for the explanation about why these specific events in time were chosen. They all seem to be a grand plan, but they haven't yet revealed any string of logic behind it.

They need to start revealing why this stuff matters outside of the missing sister to create some concern with the viewers
