Liked the reference to the Invisible Jet.

When I first saw the episode title, I thought of ID4. Someone needs to do a video edit of Kara's pod crashing to earth, show Superman's hands pulling off the cover, then cut to ID4 when Will Smith punches down into the alien then says "Welcome to Earth"

Re: Supergirl (S2E03) -- "Welcome to Earth" -- 10/24/16

The Invisible Jet reference was cute, but the best comics reference was Supergirl telling Mon-El to (paraphrased) "get used to this prison, you're gonna be in here for a long time".

I thought this Miss Martian intro was also well done. Very dramatic moment for J'onn.

Otherwise a good episode, but a bit of a drop after the opening 2 episodes. Still, the series is leagues ahead of where it was last year, and I liked last year.

So the show is just starting to add really attractive people by the bucket full now. New hottie police officer, new bartender girl and the alien guy for the female viewers.

Feels like a little bit of cast bloat there. Working to have less Supergirl and more side story lines? Guess we wait and see.

random annoyance for this ep: another battle where Supergirl has issues but then a human just steps up and "wins" it. I get why they do it but it feels like an easy cop out writing wise.

Why does the DEO let Alex go around operating solo? She seems to be on her own in the field more than Supergirl.

This episode was clumsily scripted considering it had the introduction of Mon-El and Lynda Carter making an appearance. A step back from the tighter first two episodes.

I was also hoping they would go with a more classic origin for Mon-El and Daxam.

Noticed that as well. Never makes any sense. She has fire powers, does not mean she is strong or can handle a punch which was proven she can't yet Supergirl cannot know her out. oO

How does Kara know what happened to Daxam? If it was destroyed by Krypton's explosion its destruction would not be in her pod's database, since that would have been downloaded prior to Krypton's blowing up.

What sort of idiot sends a radio signal to another planet and expects an immediate response?

They're obviously setting up Alex & Maggie.

The girl with fire power knocked Alex on her ass with a fire ball, and Alex got up unscathed. Why wasn't she burned?

I was in high school when Lynda played Wonder Woman in the 70's, and man, did I enjoy last night's episode of Supergirl. The show is continually raising the bar for good feels on comic book shows, and even Flash is having a hard time keeping up...

The DEO had star charts that knew not only that Daxam existed, but where it was located. I'm sure they had enough intel about the planet based on their tech and interaction with other alien elements.

So an unknown alien comes to earth from Krypton and they don't keep the guy under red sun light so he doesn't wake up and go nuts like he did? Fucking clown show up in the DEO.

Edit: so I see he isn't from Kryptonian, but still has same red sun issues. Still doesn't make sense why they take more precautions with him. Lazy writing

They were using Kryptonite on him, but Superman & Supergirl didn't like it. Then Jon gave all the Kryptonite to Superman to do w/e with.

Re: Supergirl (S2E03) -- "Welcome to Earth" -- 10/24/16

I was a little confused at the end. So was President Marsdin always an impostor all along?

Lynda Carter was a nice guest star. She looks pretty darn good for her age.

Not the best of the 3 that have aired, but still entertaining.

Yeah I too got a very sexual tension vibe between Alex and Maggie.

Maggie= hot lesbian cop
Alex= single, things haven't quite worked out with men.

hmmmm.

Not sure how I feel about this show turning more in to Men in Black.

Ugh I really hope they don't go that route but your right I was thinking that too.

Thought this was a decent episode if nothing spectacular. Kind of find it funny that everyone was worried about the show looking worse if it went to the CW and instead the show honestly looks better than the other three effects wise.

Looking forward to seeing what they do with Mon-El and curious to see where they go with the president reveal. Nice to see M'Gann reveal herself even though I was hoping they would keep her red hair. I also wonder if they will keep her actual Martian form similar to the comic.

M'gann! My girls and I were pretty excited at that reveal.

Fun episode. There were a few moments where J'onn actually sported a smile. It was a nice change of pace.

That was pretty close to my wife's reaction. It just seems to be too trendy & predictable...much safer than having James get in touch with his bi side & start up a relationship with Snapper.

Personally, I was a bit annoyed at the hamfisted references to "immigration" and the obvious Clintontonian references, right down to the pantsuit (the "How could anyone vote for that other guy?" was pretty funny). And the gushing of Kara over meeting the Prez was probably was appropriate for Kara's naivety and basic over-enthusiasm in general, although you'd think Kara would be a little harder to impress given her extended circle of acquaintances.

Maybe they'll have Alex & Kara both have a crush on Maggie & have a sibling rivalry/love triangle thing going on, but that might strain credibility too much.

We missed the first two CW episodes because we were used to watching this one On Demand when on CBS. Has Krypto made an appearance yet?

Re: Supergirl (S2E03) -- "Welcome to Earth" -- 10/24/16

Not a fan of stunt casting because other than the "fun" of recognizing the actress, and the wink about a plane that has nothing to do with her character, Carter was terrible. Hopefully they keep her appearances to a minimum. The "Snapper" character is also going to bring down the series very quickly. I was in favor of limiting Cat, but not in favor of that asshole.

And it's getting silly how often Alex can supposedly hold her own against supers. Just have more scenes of her and Maggie. That's something the fans can really get behind.

Hopefully they will move on to a multiple episode villain arc soon. This show fails badly at the villain of the week stuff.

I'm sure Superman would have known as well. He's been on Earth for 10yrs longer than Kara and has access to Kryptonian technology.

How long until Mon-El gets lost in time?

Missed opportunity by not naming this episode, "Welcome to Earf".

Did anyone think the way Lynda Carter spoke was weird?

She sounded like she recently recovered from a stroke. It had a very odd tone to it.

I watched a few old clips of her from 20-30 years ago and she sounded a lot different.

She sounded out of it. I wasn't going to mention it but Lynda Carter was either very rusty at acting or out of it as she performed.

Yes. Two posts above yours. But I also don't think it was really that different than what we have seen before from her. She's never been famous for her acting ability.

Have we seen Lucy Lane yet this season? I can't remember. She runs the DEO, right?

One of the Producers said there are currently no plans to bring back Lucy right now.
