Jack Frost (Vinegar Syndrome) 12/13/2016
I searched for a Vinegar Sydrome thread but couldn't find one. I have watched Jack Frost before for the Holiday Challenge, read today its getting a bluray release. The Lenticular Cover release is available through the Vinegar Sydrome Website (11/25-11/28), than the standard cover release on December 13th. Anyone order through the Vinegar Syndrome website before, I would love the LE cover if its not too pricey. Never thought this movie would ever make it to bluray.

Only available here on our website and a few other select retail partners, the Limited Edition Lenticular Cover Blu-ray/DVD release of JACK FROST! This lenticular edition is limited to 3,000 units and will be available during our Black Friday Weekend Sale (11/25 – 11/28). A standard ‘non-lenticular’ version will be available through all the usual outlets (Amazon, Deep Discount, etc…) on December 13th.
On his way to be executed, the vehicle containing notorious serial killer Jack Frost collides with a hazardous chemical truck, turning Jack into a snow covered mutant and unleashing him on the unsuspecting town of Snomonton, ‘The Snowman Capitol of the Midwest’. Jack immediately takes advantage of his newfound freedom and blizzardy abilities to seek revenge on the bungling Sheriff, played by Christopher Allport (TO LIVE AND DIE IN L.A.), that accidentally ended his cross-country killing spree. On his way to the Sheriff, Jack terrorizes the snow-man themed town and murders its residents in a variety of winterized ways. Can the residents of Snomonton fight back against the psychopath snowman from Hell or will they all end up in a snow-covered grave?
Co-starring the beautiful Shannon Elizabeth (AMERICAN PIE) in one of her most infamous and revealing roles, and featuring colorful cinematography by Dean Lent (BORDER RADIO), director Michael Cooney’s staple of video stores and late night TV, is a gleefully gory horror comedy and is coming to Blu-ray for the first time, fully restored in 2k from Vinegar Syndrome.

Damn I was hoping this was an announcement for the Michael Keaton holiday classic.
I might pick this up eventually. I don't have any releases from Vinegar Syndrome but from reviews they always seem to put out quality releases.

That pic made my coffee come up through my nose! I've never heard of this film... is it a satire? It reminds me of the old SNL "Land Shark" comedy bits. I'm gonna search reviews.

This was one of the very first DVDs I ever bought a million years ago.
Jack Frost definitely knows what type of movie it is. It's laugh-out-loud ridiculous, but that's the point. It's not overbearingly nudge-nudge wink wink about it the way the sequel is.

I am not a horror fan so it was a bit jarring to see how violent and bloody the kills were. I did catch what must have been no more than the last 20-30m of the film as I got to see him get his comeuppance at the very end (unless there was a Jack Frost 3).

The preorder is up on Amazon, $29.99 seems kind of steep, anyone have experience with Vinegar Syndrome is that price normal? I'll wait for the black friday sale to see what is the better price.

It won't stay $29.99 for long. Amazon frequently doesn't discount items when they first go up.
Because the Black Friday edition has limited artwork, I wouldn't expect too much of a discount for direct sales.

I just ordered my copy $24.96 off of Vinegar Syndrome plus free shipping. I thought of getting it 17.99 off of Amazon, plus if you add the shipping and tax it would probably cost the same.

I have not seen this movie since it was first released on dvd but I remember it being hilarious. This is also one of Shannon Elizabeth's first movies.

So does anyone here have any experience with Vinegar Syndrome? I placed my order on black friday, and haven't seen any email yet in regards to the movie being shipped, or when it will ship.

It's Monday. They just had a massive sale. I'm sure your order is being packed alongside several hundred or even thousands of others.

I went to their website today to look for something, and there's a message saying they are busy preparing orders and that the site should be back in a couple days.

Cool, thanks! I know they had a huge sale and are busy trying to ship orders. Just wondering if they had some type of time table for when it will ship.

I just got my copy in the mail, for anyone on the fence and is a fan of the movie. Getting it through VS is worth the extra money as its a well made sturdy slipcover. I'll get to watch it this weekend.

Mine got here this week too. Cannot wait to find a free moment to revisit a longtime favorite.
