Favorite sequence in a Marvel movie?

I gotta say, though the airport fight scene in Captain America: Civil War is a lot of fun, that last battle with Bucky, Cap, and Tony is pretty epic and shot really damn well.

I also have an affinity to Iron Man's first emergence in the Mark I in the first movie...

Re: Favorite sequence in a Marvel movie?

Cap America 2, the scene 3/4 through that takes place on the highway (I'm rusty, it's been awhile). I don't remember it being too complex. Well shot, choreographed, and kind of felt like a throw back to the 80's and 90's when action sequences were great. The earlier bit with Fury in the SUV was great too.

I miss that style where directors and teams had to go out, figure out how to shoot something "for real", and made a big dangerous spectacle of it.

Same for me, even after watching it a dozen plus times it still makes me feel excited like a little kid watching everyone fight together. In addition to the great action, it has the perfect comedic bits as well.

I'd also add the first battle in the snow with Sabertooth, Cyclops, Storm and Wolverine in X-Men 1.

Lemurian Star (hostage rescue on the ship) scene in Winter Soldier.

Action was good, but the music sold it.

One of the reasons The Winter Soldier tops my list of favorite Marvel movies is because of all the kick-ass action scenes. I'll add the elevator fight toward the end!

While Age of Ultron was a fairly big disappointment for me, my favorite sequence in it was the after party where all the Avengers where trying to lift Thor's hammer. Even though the movie disappointed, that quiet, subtle, sequence is one of the best of the entire series!

That Blade II one was special. Scenes that are structure like that have a special place with me. Something is fun about watching a scene build. In those instances, the build up is usually better than the pay off. Smokin Aces is another example of this.

I'm partial to the nightcrawler opening scene in the White House in X2.

The fight/chase on the elevated train in midtown Manhattan in SPIDERMAN 2.

Simply because I liked the idea of an el train existing in midtown for the first time since the 3rd Avenue El was torn down in 1955.

Re: Favorite sequence in a Marvel movie?

Favorite sequence.....two words.... "Puny God."

Full actual scene......the boat take over at the beginning of Winter Soldier is pretty great, and i also LOVE the Nick Fury car chase scene with the Winter Solider first appearing.

Also the first Iron Man where Tony is watching the news of the hostages a he decides to kit up and deal with it and the following beat down he gives. That scene really showed the potential of the character as a bad ass.

Re: Favorite sequence in a Marvel movie?

Hulkbuster scene in Age of Ultron.

House Party Protocol in Iron Man 3.

Lots of good ones mentioned in previous posts. Thanks for someone mentioning Blade as the Blade 2 beginning with Blade versus the two vampires in ninja suits that infiltrated his home base was great. Yeah there was some CGI used but for the most part I really enjoyed the sword play.

I'm assuming we are trying to keep this to live action movies as there are a lot of Marvel properties in films that we may not think about. The biggest one I can think of is Transformers: The Movie (1986) which was also a Marvel comic back in the 80's.

Marvel licensed the Transformers brand though, and the animated movie was based on the animated TV show, not the comic. I don't think many, if any, think of Transformers as a "Marvel" brand.

I mean, Marvel also licensed Star Wars back in the 80s for comics, and are making new Star Wars comics now, but nobody would consider Star Wars to be Marvel.
