So how many times in 90 mins will it be pointed out and shoved down our throats, the difference between the 2 generations?

Given the posted synopsis, it will be very interesting to see what is unique about this storm vs. the many others past groups had to suffer through. Seems like more and more this is turned into Big Brother on an island rather than making them go through what the cast went through during the first decade of the shows history. It certainly doesn't help that they keep casting more idiots and cream puffs that would be better off on Big Brother.

I'm looking forward to MvGX, as I do every season, but my hype for this season is pretty low because of how amazing Australian Survivor has been. There's no discussion thread for it here, but I'd highly recommend it to any fans of the US version, especially if you prefer older seasons that focused more on camp life.

Do you mean their current season in particular or just the Australian version of Survivor in general?

Where can one check out the Australian version? How similar is it? Is the host as great as Probst used to be?

Yeah where can we find the Australian version? I've tried to watch Amazing Race Canada on my roku, but the youtube app doesn't work very well...

I'm guessing it's probably via torrents or one of those unofficial streaming sites.

Figgy did an interview where I work this week. No one told me. I would have came in early to meet her. Here's the interview if you'd like to watch it: http://www.newschannel5.com/talk-of-...vor-contestant

Is he part of the "dude bro" alliance? If so, I'm with you there.
Why would the producers schedule a season in the middle of a regions cyclone season? Can't mock the players for not roughing it out during the weather since GX would've been squashed in their shelter. I wonder where they went for the evac. I'm sure some interviews will bring it up.

While I am already sick of the generation defining characteristics, I do think Jeff needs to do a little more research on Generation X.
Having lived through it, I'm pretty sure our defining characteristic at the time was that we were the slacker generation.

The age differences on the two teams make little sense- on the Gen-X team there's one guy who is 33 and 52. On the Millenial team there is someone who is 31. A 31 and 33 year old are pretty much the same age.

Anyway, decent start. Gonna need Michelle and Figgy to go far since they got rid of good bodied Asian.

The millennials are really annoying.
Interesting twists with the 36-day immunity (good luck with that!) and the shortcuts.

I must have missed something with the buff handout. It looked like they randomly grabbed a color out of a basket, but then they were sorted by generation. How did that happen?

Honestly I thought the whole generational twist was more annoying than anything else. Like there is a substantive difference between a 32 year old and a 34 year old. People are people, and generational differences are largely stereotypes. The only real difference is in the casting. They seem to have cast more than a couple free spirits in the Millennial group and more than a few blue collar types in the Gen X group. That's the difference in these groups.
The only real difference between generations is largely in the technology they were raised on vs. technology that was invented or became more widespread after people reached adulthood. For instance, my Mom never figured out how to program the VCR, now she has to figure out her Smart TV.
In my case, many times in my teens and 20s I had to locate and use a pay phone. Because of this, the functionality that I still value the most in my cell phone is the ability to make phone calls. Someone like Figgy who was born in the mid 90s would have grown up after the proliferation of portable phones and would consider that value a given.

EW notes that they were evacuated to a room with just a concrete floor, and had eyes on them the entire time so they would not discuss the game or form alliances, so it sounds like if it were not for that giant tree crashing down and destroying one of the camps that they were almost as miserable in their evac shelter as they would have been in the cyclone. I posted a comment on the EW thread that my favorite bit during all the cyclone footage was seeing how the bat was able to ride out the storm.

I was annoyed when I thought they were bailing out the millennials for blowing off building their shelter, but they were helping both tribes.
