Need help remembering 80's band, sounded like U2
For the life of me, I cannot remember the name of this band, even though I had the cassette at one point.
They were quite obscure, but had a totally U2 sound. They had one somewhat big single that I loved.
All I can remember is the lryics: "Those...were the days." and "Wheels...turn and spin." I'm pretty sure the chorus is the name of the song.
Whenever I try to remember this, my mind clicks on the song "Away" by The Bolshoi, which is not the song I'm thinking of--although it kind of sounds like that.
I THINK they were American, and I think the name of the band was two words...

No, I'm a huge Alarm fan, and I'm somewhat familiar with the other two--the band I'm looking for didn't reach that level of popularity.

Man, I fucking hated when The Alarm turned into U2 clones. They had such a unique sound to start. I love their self titled debut and Declaration, then they released that shit Strength that sounded exactly like U2's output.

Thanks guys, but no--much more obscure. It was a major label release, I think, but that's about it--I don't think the album charted anywhere, and I don't think they did any other albums. It was just one cool U2-sounding single that was somewhat popular.
Edit: You guys got me thinking and I just remembered it!

Huh...seeing their other stuff on Youtube, I guess they're still active.

They sound just like Psychedelic Furs.
Now that you've solved your own question let's shift gears to another topic:
Bands that changed their sound and started to sound like U2.
Several have already been mentioned. Simple Minds is the first that comes to my mind. They had a really cool unique sound and then in 1988 they became U2 clones.
